Sam Allardyce signs 3-year contract with Blackburn Rovers

heart monitors and prozone talk as well as his 76 staff of analysts, massuers, and other positions will be touted in the papers and on blackburn forums now

Aye and what bullshit that is.  The science of hoofing the ball forward is what that twat stands for.  While his mates in the press are bumming him, the poor Blackburn fans are going to suffer his anti-football.  Good luck lads, you'll need it.

Was in the car before 3pm and the fanfare and buildup they gave Allardyce was a fucking embarrassment. You'd think it was Jose fucking Mourinho returning to England.

Again, they're just completely ignoring the farce his reign here represented. How I hope Blackburn go down.

Haven't you got the memo? The only reason he failed here is because fat Ashley and the Geordie "soopafans" didn't give him enough time. He would've taken us to Europe!

No doubt the story the fucking media will be pushing all week after this.

he wasnt THAT bad here. when i was criticising him during his reign you were all giving me a bashing yet the minute he left he was 'shit'. the truth is he wouldve done a decent job if given a couple of years, solidified us as a top 7 side playing boring and dull football. i'm not sure it wouldve been worth putting up with the shit football for such modest returns, but by no means is he a bad manager. when he left Bolton he had them 5th in the table with 3 games of the season left.

he made plenty of mistakes but in my view he was trying to adapt the club to fit him rather than the other way round, which proved to be his undoing. he basically admitted as much with richard keyes after he left. but he was here a matter of months so you cant make any sort of reasonable judgement. ashley got rid as he wanted his own manager and a better brand of football. ridiculous to make any sort of judgement based on his very short time here under a chairman who barely backed him. he was neither forced out of the club by impatient fans and nor did he fail, he was just a victim of circumstances out of his control, that is, the club changing ownership shortly after he joined us.

Don't agree with that at all. We all know you're very much anti-Ashley, you just seem to be reinforcing that.

Am I right in thinking they rejected him in favour of Ince after he was interviewed in the summer? Sure I remember this, but I was challenged on it yesterday and couldn't back it up...

The way I heard it the other day on SSN, he rejected them back then. Although my memory of the situation is the same as yours, that appears to be the way it's being reported now.

Sorry, just read at first glance like you believe Ashley didn't - and should have - given him a chance.

i dont disagree with ashley's decision (though i didnt like the timing and manner of it, allardyce only found out via SSN) as he wanted his own manager in which is fair enough. as i said, allardyce was a victim of those circumstances which were beyond his control. allardyce needs to put the conditions and infastructure in place to be an effective manager, and that takes time, so its pointless to try and judge him from his short time here. i dont think the crap football philosophy we rightly criticise him for would've changed - going for draws away from home, long ball, big burly players, long throws etc - it just would've gradually gotten more effective as he molded the club to his image.

he'll improve blackburn just by not being paul ince, and i also think their players are better suited to his style. long term i think theyll be a decent but boring, long ball side much like bolton were.

IMO he was THAT bad.  While he was here I had zero confidence of us beating anybody, plus we played a 'style' of Football that was nothing short of painful to watch.  He's the only manager ever to make me not look forward to watching the match!

Don't agree for a second that he was a victim of anything either, apart from his own ignorance maybe.

I can remember wanting to cry after that Derby game. Watching Rozehnal have most of our chances, the non-displays of Owen and Shola and Martins, and bringing on defenders (Beye and Faye) to try and overturn a defecit.

Just utterly baffling. I wonder if Sam will play for a 0-0 in the cup, I mean, they are away from home, meaning whoever they are playing is irrelevant.

Aye was awful. Took a day off work, spent £100ish and got served up that abomination. We rarely saw the match it was all in the centre circle (pretty much where they scored from too)
