Well as long as you've got your health that's the main thing.

I'm not hugely bothered but would lean towards Spurs, Man United would be pot 1 in CL and increase our chance of playing an English side, which would seem a waste, not sure where Spurs would end up.  It would definitely seem like a bigger deal spurs winning whereas just another second rate (for them) trophy for Man u.

Man Utd won’t be Pot 1 if Chelsea and Dortmund make CL. Although with Arsenal being the next team in line anyway it probably doesn’t make any difference.

I believe they will be, I think Europa League winner gets automatic pot 1.

Are you sure, cos I would expect Football Rankings to have have factored that into their projection?

Just been reading up. Apparently it changed last year, they used to be in pot 1, now aren’t. I stand corrected.

I think Daniel Levy probably wants him to win a trophy less than you do.

Spurs got too many attacking injuries and a weaker mentality. Plus add on that Man U always find a way to scrote.

It's lose lose but can try to enjoy the misery of whoever loses as it will have been a rotten season for whoever does.

if Spurs win wait for Ange's 'told you so, mate' gloating

at least Amorim would probably admit their season was still embarrassing

if either muster up a performance tonight and do us a favour  (not bloody likely) then maybe I could cheer for one of them

I hate these games where you want both teams to lose in embarrassing style.

Overall I'd just about prefer Tottenham to win.....purely to hear the whining of Neville over "long suffering" Man U fans, and see how much more Radcliffe can balls it up

that may save us then, not sure how it works.

The whole ‘getting a team from the same country’ rationale is extremely blurred. It seems it comes down to whether a point in the draw ever reaches ‘deadlock’ i.e can’t be avoided.

It would take someone far cleverer than me to work out the various scenarios of that occurring, but I don’t think it’s a given either way as to whether we get an English team, regardless of how many are in Pot 1.

Despite being the Man Utd manager, I like Amorin, he offers no excuses and speaks well.

I can't stand Ange, excuse after excuse and he's just a rude interviewee with a bad attitude, and too arrogant to see his tactics are a problem. Where the same issue is there for Amorin, it's not the same, even if the result are.

Best put this way. I'd rather Tottenham win, as a Man Utd victory would make me hurl. But would prefer Amorin to be the winning manager.

I think Spurs winning is the obvious choice.

Pros

  • They might keep Postecoglou
  • Man United are the bigger long-term threat and more likely to splurge - we don't want them in the CL and with more money to spend
  • Man United losing to Spurs of all teams would be really funny and potentially knock their confidence
  • Man United might have to sell some players they don't want to
  • Spurs probably aren't ready for CL next season anyway
  • Man United are more unlikeable
  • During Man United's 'failure' era they've still won 5 trophies, I want them to actually fail

Cons

  • Spurs are still unlikeable and it would strengthen their hand
  • Man United can concentrate on their league form
  • Postecoglou gets to say he continued his second season trophy winning thing

Yeah, I'm Spurs all the way. Nice summary above. There's always a slight chance Levy keeps Ange if they win and this Spurs squad having to play Champions League under Ange would kill them next season. A Man U team that's finished just outside the relegation zone with no European football will need to (continue to) overpay on salaries to attract any top players even despite their name/heritage.

If we can get in the Champions League then with Eddie and some decent investment this summer I'd fancy us strongly to finish above them both again next season.

Failing to see what all the fuss is about with Amorim, personally.

The football and system is turgid. He changes his team every 5 minutes, that was even before completely tanking and saving themselves for the Europa League. Plus he always seems negative when I hear him or see him on the touchline. Certainly a bit of throwing players under the bus, too.

Basically he’s taken a hardline stance with some of the spice boys and he is more charismatic than the previous bloke. Which isn’t hard, TBF. Other than that I fail to see what all the fuss is about.

Gets a ridiculously easy ride and a free pass IMO.

Also. How is it even a decision between Spurs or Man U? 100% Spurs.

Man U can get fucked. Always winning stuff even when they’re a laughing stock  They’ve been successful basically my entire lifetime. Chemical Jim is a cunt. I could go on.

Spurs winning with the Ange situation would be mildly amusing. As would the Arsenal fume

Hard what to make of him really...sometimes the honesty is refreshing, but day to day it comes across as a kid messing around with Football Manager 97-98 in a 2025 world.

Alternatively he's a financial genius, knowing he can manage Man U for a year or so, walk away a multi millionaire regardless of what happens.

Like the projected Pot4, but  would not be surprised if we got done over again to get us out of the way.

Zagreb, Villarreal and Barcelona please

You play two games against two different teams from each of the pots, including the one you are in.
