hypothetically, say carroll never did ever get on a pitch for liverpool (i know im sure he will) but if he didn't would they be entitled to not have to pay us the £35m or could they only claim it back on insurance?

"Buyer beware" as Shepherd said of Woodgate's transfer.

They've already paid us up front £30m, they'd have no claim to that and even if it were in instalments they'd still have to pay and if didn't we'd successfully take them to court for it (See Al Fayed with Steve Marlet and refusing to pay the final two years due to him believing he was ripped off)

IF he never made it back on the pitch the only way they'd see their money again is to claim off insurance, which I'd always heard that you cannot get if you don't pass a medical, Carroll didn't pass a full medical, so not sure if that was enough what he did pass or not.

I'm was quite sure the Michael Owen transfer to us had something to do over the Woodgate deal (rumours of some medical information we didn't disclose in the deal).

Possibly the most nonsensical sentence in the history of humankind. Well played.

Exactly. It's not our fault they bought a crock/didn't examine him thoroughly enough.

This is like an eBay 'buy as seen'. He's fucked, it's not our problem. And there'd be no court in the land that would rule in favour of Liverpool.

Hmm, I'm sure the same court that acquitted Stevie G of him beating the DJ would disagree.

 Well yeah, exactly.  What do you mean neesy, that we acknowledged we'd sold them a crock and agreed to buy a crock in return?

Real were apparently looking at legal action against us over the medical information we did not disclose, I'm sure Freddie's 16M offer for Owen helped to quiet down that threat.

Obviously it's all speculation but I don't think it's far fetched as people may think.

Don't see what's wrong new about that? :dontknow: Probably just trying to covering himself for the 'Carroll is going nowhere' comments.

Dunno, I think he's being straight.  Nothing wrong with it btw, I'm just surprised he's came out and said it.
