TRon
we bought him for 1.5 million. Got 12 great years of service out of him. We have good cover in Harper and good youngsters in Krul and Forster and Sodenberg. To get 8 Million for a player at his age when in 3 years he could retire or get injured and be finished is good business and can help the team move forward. Exactly. Anyway he's going to be a City player now so he's dead to me.

Im sure we are trying to get more than 8 million or this deal would have been done already.

johnnypd
really hope we get someone good in exchange Negotiating team should be over there just about begging for Sturridge yep he is out of contract too so they may be more likely to let him leave. since there's little/no time to spend the money we should use the negotiation time with city to steal us a player. Robster
You can imagine a lot of players in their squad kicking off though if they are being told about the possibility of being used as part of the given deal. Someone like Sturridge, good young prospect, is going to go mental at the thought of playing with Butt and Duff instead of Robinho

Karjala
Apologies if its already been posted,as i havent read the thread. Ashley was at the training ground last week, meeting players and coaches, Shay flat out refused to shake his hand and actually told him he had ruined Newcastle United Football Club, hence his quick sale at a lower price than we'd like. Way to go Shay, least somebody cares.

Nicky
From the mirror journo on the Blackburn forum; A top move is in jeopardy because a leading player has failed a medical. The buying club don't know whether to press on or drop the idea. The selling club need to sell to get money for a striker. The striker they want is at a club who need to sell him...to bid for a Rovers player. That is how stupid the market is at this time. I won't name the player...it's possible the move will happen on a 'staged payments' tomorrow. Given - Bent - Santa Cruz ?

Fatwax
Why would Spurs need to sell Bent to get Santa Cruz? It's not as if any of their players are on top wages.. apparently.

To be honest, can't see why we'd be buying a striker. Smith Viduka and Martins all due back soon, but fuck it, who knows.

Guest kingdawson
Why would Spurs need to sell Bent to get Santa Cruz? It's not as if any of their players are on top wages.. apparently. We dont. Besides, Giovanni is probably going to sign for Pompey for £7M so i doubt Bent will go anywhere.
