It's here where I want to thank Mick for being so optimistic in this thread, dishing out excellent advice and predicitions on this game.

If we lose though, it's your fault.

We'll not lose so nothing is my fault, anyway, I'm off now.

3-1.

a mackem mate of mine is going, he's just rang.

They're being escorted up from the station, near the dog and parrott he's had a pint glass thrown at him, someone's chucked a cone at the polis and our fans tried to charge at them.  Got doused with tear gas.

Fuck. It sounds like it'll be even more hostile than usual. Hopefully our fans dont go out of their way to cause trouble as thats the last thing we need.

The old folks are going and I called them to be careful today. It will really kick off if we lose.

oh, another thing not mentioned Sbragia said at the press conference.

Last year they were made to go about 11 o'clock from their training ground, which he thought was too early.  They had no choice, the polis made them.  Said it affected them as they were sat around in the dressing room too long (said its too small, and got hot easily - QUALITY!).  Said they're going when they want to this year.

Hope the fuck the polis have stepped in again and took them along far too early.

JFK says Martins, Ameobi & Smith will play at most 20 mins.

I'll be delighted if Martins gets on. Amoebi and Smith won't play at all I hope, especially Amoebi, when he's fit he's shown this year he can be OK but when he's unfit he's just rubbish.

are they even in the squad?

BBC squad latest:

Newcastle will give a debut to Kevin Nolan, but Charles N'Zogbia and keeper Shay Given will not feature.

Michael Owen (ankle) and Danny Guthrie (hamstring) have been added to the Magpies' injury list.

Sunderland could be without midfielder Teemu Tainio, who picked up a knee injury in Tuesday's win against Fulham.

Paul McShane is out with a hamstring problem but George McCartney (calf) should be fit and Kieran Richardson has recovered from his ankle injury.

Newcastle (from): Harper, Forster, Krul, Enrique, Bassong, Coloccini, Taylor, Edgar, Duff, Gutierrez, Nolan, Lovenkrands, Geremi, Donaldson, Donninger, Godsmark, Xisco, Carroll, LuaLua, Ranger.

Sunderland (from): Fulop, Gordon, Colgan, Bardsley, McCartney, Ferdinand, Collins, Whitehead, Malbranque, Leadbitter, Tainio, Richardson, Edwards, Yorke, Reid, Cisse, Jones, Murphy, Healy, Chopra.

Still no lineup yet.

Shola Returns For Derby Start

SHOLA Ameboi makes a shock return to the Newcastle United starting XI for this afternoon's Tyne-Wear derby clash at St.James' Park.

The 27-year-old has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the 2-1 win over Spurs in December but will partner Andy Carroll in attack against the Black Cats.

Kevin Nolan is also handed his full debut.

More to follow in Live Match Centre ...
