KDT
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21213700 What's the point of keeping him now when we got both Santon and Haidara? SPL is pretty much league 1 standard, he could get a championship loan.

Wallace
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/10187334.THE_INSIDER__Newcastle_could_still_achieve_top_academy_status/ THE INSIDER: Newcastle could still achieve top academy status Saturday 26th January 2013 DESPITE reports yesterday suggesting Newcastle United had once again missed out on Category One status in the Premier League's Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) academy categorisation, the Insider has learned that a final decision will not be taken until the end of the season. Last July, Sunderland and Middlesbrough were awarded Category One status, while Newcastle were initially graded as Category Two, a situation that had the potential to seriously hamper their ability to attract young English players. The Magpies appealed against the decision, and the Premier League effectively granted them a grace period to make some changes before another assessment. That is why Newcastle United are playing in the new Barclays Under-21 Premier League, a competition that is only supposed to be open to Category One clubs. Yesterday, a series of reports emerged suggesting Newcastle had once again failed to achieve Category One status following a reassessment process. However, The Insider can reveal those reports are incorrect as Newcastle are not due to be assessed until later in the season. A decision is expected before the end of the campaign, and Newcastle officials remain hopeful they will be upgraded to full Category One status. That's working out well. Not the best example, but the point is fair. Especially when we know Amalfitanos brother was a late bloomer.

Pilko
From the squad that lost at Bedlington earlier this month, fringe players Abeid and Ranger were absent today, there was also no place for central defender Lubo Satka, Yven Moyo or Paul Dummett. Unavailable to Willie Donachie were Conor Newton, Curtis Good and Brad Inman (on loan), while Alex Nicholson and Michael Richardson remain sidelined due to injury. It's reported that a further quartet of reserve team players who didn't feature (JJ Hooper, Dennis Knight, Marcus Maddison and Michael Riley) have now been released, but that's not yet officially confirmed. Find it a bit strange that we're letting Maddison go, he sounded like a good player and every time I've seen him he looks impressive. Unless that's just incorrect from .com
Smal
It would be bizarre if any of them were released at this point. Especially when you consider how many under 18s we seem to be having to use in the under 21s

Especially when you consider how many under 18s we seem to be having to use in the under 21s It's not such a bad thing using U-18s in the U-21s - we generally seem to have kids playing in the age group above. You are hoping to have your U-21s on loan at a Prem/Championship side.
