midds
Sounds like Greg's being racist to me. Are you going to back up this libelous nonsense? I'd be interested to hear this too tbh. I was taking the piss. I'm sure Greg's laughing his head off.

Thespence
While flicking through the channels last night I saw David Bentley score a cracking goal for Spurs 2nd XI. Spurs had a really strong team out, while Arsenal was very young with a CL game the next day. Why Spurs signed Pascal is strange to me as last night he played left back for there 2nd XI as Hutton was at RB & there are another 2 right backs at Spurs. Parky
The reason we generally do well against Spurs is cause they aren't a big powerful side (the kind our lightweight team struggle against regardless of quality).

Guest Howaythetoon
Spurs are very much like us not as a club but as a team. They don't win the games they should, are often suspect to the odd thrashing, and seem destined to underachieve as a side. So when we both meet it literally is anyone's game, regardless of form, league table position or ground. For us we have some kind of hold over them at the minute. That will change one day, hopefully it won't change too soon as we badly need some kind of result at WHL and maybe even a performance. Fingers crossed. It's also cause they aren't a big side and we don't get overpowered so easily in midfield (out passed yes).

We haven't lost by more then 2 goals the whole season (and that was only twice this season including the Ramos era).
geordieglory
It's also cause they aren't a big side and we don't get overpowered so easily in midfield (out passed yes). We very much could have done without Palacios returning for suspension for them for Sunday, he gives them some proper bite in midfield.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's movement that does us in midfield, not really power as such.
Tooj
It's movement that does us in midfield, not really power as such. In a nutshell, against a team that has movement and pace in midfield we don't really stand much of a chance.
mrmojorisin75
It's movement that does us in midfield, not really power as such. said this earlier in the thread: nolan/butt vs palacios/jenas!!! wake up screaming in the night when that creeps into my mind
geordieglory
It's movement that does us in midfield, not really power as such. Fair point, but with (as Mojo says) Jenas and Palacios undoubtedly eating up Nolan and Butt for breakfast, lunch and dinner, then we'll have to worry about Modric and especially Lennon running around our defence like blue-arsed flies. Not a nice thought.

Mowen
Duff struggled badly in that formation imo, only really started to look better when he played more as a genuine winger in the second half. I'd be very tempted to have Jonas on the left as Lennon has been their best player this season and Jonas offers far more defensively than Duffer. Be interesting to see what we do.
