Shepherd Coming Back Again and more take-over tosh

Just grabbed this off our very reliable Sunday Sun  :pow:

Freddy Shepherd plans Newcastle United return

May 17 2009 by Steve Brown, Sunday Sun

Freddie Shepherd

FORMER Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd is in talks with would-be foreign investors aimed at launching a summer takeover of the club.

The ex-Magpies supremo, pictured right, has held discussions with businessmen from the USA and Middle East about a deal which could be key to keeping Alan Shearer at St James’s Park.

Shepherd is refusing to comment on the prospect of him heading a consortium to buy United back from Mike Ashley.

But sources insist that Shepherd and his wealthy potential backers would have the means to meet Ashley’s asking price.

And they would then go all out to persuade Shearer to stay on as manager permanently and begin rebuilding a side in serious decline.

“Shepherd and his fellow investors have been closely monitoring Newcastle’s position, and know there would be two prices for the club, depending on whether they stay up or go down,” said an insider.

“But the people we are talking about would be able to finance a deal given either scenario.

“And their intention is to provide funding to keep Alan Shearer at Newcastle.”

The news casts serious doubt over the prospect of a Geordie consortium launching a viable takeover bid, with the source adding: “The people Shepherd has spoken to are in a different financial league.”

To be honest, if you gave Shepherd a bottomless pit of money, he'd do a better job than all other PL chairman, the trouble is is that he can't be shrewd or sensible.

He'd spend double what chelsea did, and then go and then get FSA back to work alongside Kinnear and fuck it all up for us.

Surely part 1 is contradicted by part 2. His inability to negotiate well for us is why he will never be a good Chairman at Newcastle.

That doesn't make any sense - if he's got a bottomless pit, why the fuck should he care about knocking a few million off the price or a few thousand a week of the wages? It's bottomless.

It's pretty simple Pilko mate, have a think.

If he had a bottomless pit he'd be brilliant. He doesn't, so that's why he'd need to negotiate.

;)

There aren't many who wouldn't be pretty brilliant in having a bottomless pit imo.

I'm sure Souness would try his best to fuck it up.

If he was just a front man and someone else controlled the purse strings... yeah, why not?

He can't make us look any worse than we do all ready.

God, I'm starting to look back at the Souness era with great nostalgia.

A naked Freddy Shepherd riding back into the toon on the back of a white stallion!

But sadly the white stallion will have skid marks on its back.

Are you questioning Shepherd's personal hygiene? I'll have you know that his personal hygiene was twice that of Mike Ashley.

Out of the frying pan into the fat cunt. Mike is taking the ship down, but Freddy was the one who set the course towards the iceberg.

No ta.

50k fans watching an inept team facing relegation, who queued up to buy new shirts the day before, not knowing if we'd be in the Championship next August.

Someone with some serious money should see us as a worthy investment.
