SUPERTOON
Why the f*** would we be trying to offload Taylor, Barton and Jonas? If its just a case of wages, we should be trying to move out Butt, Coloccini, Geremi and Xisco. Let them 4 go and get the takeover done. Why try to move out three of our better players? Is basically take your pick of high wage players, first three leave. Taylor is our biggest asset and that is why he is one who is aloud to go. If its just a case of wages though, we should be letting Colo, Xisco, Geremi and Butt go for nothing. That's about 250k a week right there. Yes I know, but if nobody wants him then we have to get rid of players on big wages that clubs want- Barton and Jonas, and players who would bring in good money- Taylor. SUPERTOON
Ashley will stay, moat will come in as a partner Would people be happy with that. If it meant Shearer in and funds being made available then i would.
ianovthetoon
Ashley will stay, moat will come in as a partner Would people be happy with that. Same here, it's a win win situation. We should get the leadership and funds to move on, whilst Ashley can recup more of his losses at a later date. If he sells half at £50M, invests half of that back into the club, he should be able to sell the other half for £100M once we're re-established in the Premiership If it meant Shearer in and funds being made available then i would. Jayson
Llambias was asked on that radio show the other day whether the transfer deadline was a deadline for the sale of the club & he said no. So theres a good chance we could be here a while past friday to. We just have to hope they have the brains to actually sign some players to.
SteveMc
Bloke (football correpondent) on 5 live about half an hour ago saying that one of the 3 groups was at the 'signing stage ' today and it could have gone through but didn't. Also said it is looking likely that Ashley will keep hold of the club.
Ketsbaia
thankfully, free transfers and loans aren't limited to September 1st......but any hopes of getting Beckford, Skjelbred, Kilgallon etc. must now be virtually nil.

Guest Chris P
I rekon it's gonna be a 40/60 type deal, Thats what MA's been after for a while. I said it before
James
I'm going to predict that we agreed a deal today verbally, but certain lawyers or investors or whatever can't get here until Monday as they want to be at SJP in person to cross the i's and dot the t's. Why would Ashley wait until Monday to announce he is staying? He has nothing stopping him.

Dave
Who exactly would play at the back if we sold both Taylor and Coloccini? Without Jonas we'd have precisely nil wingers aside from LuaLua.

chicago_shearer
This is where I imagine a full-time manager would be helpful. To respectfully point out to Ashley, Moat and Barclays that perhaps we might need a few football players in this football club.
BlueStar
One of the kids could play just as bad as Coloccini for nothing. Do we even have enough kids to get 11 people on the field and a full bench if we lose another three players, on top of the 10 already out the door, out of a squad that was too small last season? I'm struggling to think of anyone we have available who didn't feature on the pitch or bench on Wednesday.

Be interesting to see who plays in Newcastle Reserves matches this season when we're having to play our 15 and 16 year olds in the first team. Toddlers? Sperm? ujpest doza
One of the kids could play just as bad as Coloccini for nothing. Am i alone in thinking that Collocinni has actually played well for us in the 3 games we've played?? We've kept 2 clean sheets in a row with harper hardly troubled. Aye, and we haven't got anyone to come in if either Taylor or Colloccinni either leave or get injured so we can't afford to get rid of either of them. Guest neesy111
why the fuck do ppl on here complain about all the shit the press come's up with and then believe anything they say the press know fuck all about what's happening, hence why they are making up stories each day about the club and probably why the chronicle is writing so little on the subject
