Interpolic
I'd like to see Barkley feature as much as possible, starting in the opening match might be a big ask though.
Guest firetotheworks
Get in, I can't wait to have the trumpet version of The Great Escape theme randomly come into my head at inappropriate moments. Any man that endorses those tits from playing it in every England game is welcoming that scenario.
Ste
The trumpets are fine when you've heard vuvuzelas. It adds to the atmosphere.

Can Henderson play right back? Johnson is awful IMO. If Henderson can play RB it would free up a spot for Barkley in that midfield.
Ste
I don't think Henderson would do any better at right back. I'd rather he played the role he's excelled in all season, and keep Barkley as that wild card off the bench for the first couple games.

I'd rather he played the role he's excelled in all season, and keep Barkley as that wild card off the bench for the first couple games. The risk of bringing him off the bench lies in that he might try to do everything on his own, especially if England need a goal. In his inexperience that might be detrimental to the team. Starting him will give him time to settle his nerves and get into the game. Just saying like.
Hanshithispantz
Barkley should probably play ahead of Wilshere. Like Ronny said, it's pointless playing him and Gerrard.
AyeDubbleYoo
Why is it pointless playing Gerrard and Wilshere? They're completely different.

Hanshithispantz
Both are better as deep lying play-makers, or at least we have players better suited to playing in other areas of midfield.
AyeDubbleYoo
Wilshire isn't IMO. He's very dynamic. I wouldn't call him a deep lying player at all tbh Neither would I, he's a forward-looking player if anything, carries the ball forward brilliantly and can play in tight spaces very well. If you think Barclay or Sterling will be more dangerous then fair enough, but it's not because Wilshere is better deep.
Hanshithispantz
Most deep lying playmakers are forward thinking, in-fact it's sort of mandatory I cannot see the purpose of playing him anywhere else on the pitch as we have players better suited, Barclay and Sterling being 2 of them. AyeDubbleYoo
Sterling is more exciting but I'm not sure you can say he's more effective yet. Barclay might be if he's having one of his top games. Anyway, biggest issue with Wilshere is fitness obviously, the other two are playing very well too. I love watching Wilshere but not sure I would pick him at this point. Gallowgate Toon
Wilshere can be quite a handy box-to-box player and is one of the more intelligent players we've got when it comes to knowing when to slow the game down and when to speed up. I really don't think Barkley is quite ready for the step up in one of the most important parts of the pitch, he should be eased in to the competition. Ste
Barclay is a bit of a card like.
Hanshithispantz
I agree but not most of them have the ability that wilshire does is the final third. He's def an advanced player. From Arsenal's official twitter account. Arsène says: "His best position is as a deep-lying midfielder, where he can be a distributor. He has a good burst and vision" #AskArsene I wouldn't say he's def an advanced player, he can play across the midfield and it's always going to be his job to get forward but I'd definitely prefer us with someone else behind the strikers and on the wings, and I don't really want us playing both Gerrard and Wilshire in the centre either. Minhosa
Defensively, I think we look quite vulnerable as a unit but going forwards it looks much more dynamic. I'm looking forward to seeing what Hodgson does in respect of formations. Hope it's something interesting like 4-3-3.
Boosden
This made me hate him, after he was given no shit from the corner. Petty I know http://i.imgur.com/OpxoDFA.jpg

Can't ever remember Wilshere playing that role at all. He's much better driving forward.
Hanshithispantz
He played there earlier in the season against us, although I don't think he was that great.

Rich
Really like the squad but would have put Carroll in as a battering ram for emergencies. Looking forward to see how we set up.

I think I would too. I also hadn't realised how good Jermaine Defoe's England record was. Appreciate he's be a step back though.
Guest firetotheworks
I want to see Barkley because he's the type of player that I love to see come on the scene. Raw, doesn't give a shit, wants to win, wants to take people on, excites the crowd. You won't get any of that with Wilshere or Gerrard.
