Guest Craig-NUFC
Livorno midfielder Piermario Morosini has been rushed to a hospital after collapsing during his team's Serie B match at Pescara. Morosini fell to the ground in the 31st minute of the match and received urgent medical attention on the pitch. A defibrillator was also used on the 25-year-old player. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/14/piermario-morosini-collapses-during-game

TêteDeMaure
Is there another league with such a crazy format as the Turkish league?? I think it's a ridiculous idea, Galatasaray have won the league by 9 points, now they have to play in the Super Final and could possibly miss out on Champions League to someone who finished 22points below them. They also have the same format for the Europa League spots. Funnily enough Galatasary were the only ones who opposed it, they were one of the few teams that were NOT involved in the match fixing scandal! Don't understand how the ratio works like. http://www.tff.org/default.aspx?pageID=471&ftxtID=14913

Dr Colossus
Was going to put this in the footballing pet hates thread but it felt a bit too specific. Tevez's hat-trick goal against Norwich yesterday. Mis-controlled backpass lets him in one-on-one, he rounds the keeper and slots into the empty net. However, the defender who passed it back is jogging almost alongside him about 6-8 yards away. Not even attempting to stop him from scoring. He's basically allowed Tevez to score. Just that a defender would allow the opposition striker to score unchallenged is almost execrably baffling. If he'd sprinted after Tevez he could've gotten there, and you'd think he would've sprinted back, given that his mistake let Tevez in. Even if he doesn't get there, at least he's tried and not just surrendered. Up yours, Norwich player, whoever the fuck you were.

Disco
No idea how the Argentinian league works. Something about taking an average points from the last 2/3 seasons or something , anyone able to shed any light? League competition is split in to two short competitions of 19 games (Apertura & Clausura) Continental qualification is gained by a joint table of both halves + league winners Relegation is over done over on average points per game over taken over 3 years (6 short championships) Nowt like keeping it simple. Dokko
Aye, we always applaud the Sunderland fans and players in to the stadium in the name of good sportsmanship This isn't nasty behaviour though. Pitch invasions, racist abuse, attacking players, smashing up toilets and smearing shit, putting metro windows out and constant death threats to opposition fans over pointless shite, thats nasty and it's very much one sided. There's a minority of our lot who can take it too far, yet on their end it's always the majority, thuggish gang like behaviour once there is more than 5 of them together in the same place bar the job centre. Yes, the idea was to use the three year average of point per game to stop the big name teams (Boca and River) from being relegated if they they had an off season. It worked perfectly until this season when River Plate were relegated.
