Vickery and Brassell are outstanding, although recently they've had Luke Moore from The Football Ramble on. He's easily the best on the TFR but he's been exposed on the the phone in IMO saying that not many people match up to Brassell in terms of all round knowledge of European football. Plus he likes the Toon. Aye I noticed that too. On last week's phone-in he passed on a few questions, which Brassell wouldn't do. Wheelock is pretty good too, but I think the show needs to cover Asia more. Definitely although it's a pretty hard task knowing everything. Not too arsed about AFC region but they do totally miss it out and give CONCACAF (USA) region far too much coverage. Guess it's the Beckham thing, Guardian this weekend is minute by minuting Galaxy v Chivas and have an MLS correspondent despite little or no coverage of anything else outside of Europe. Talking about giving the USA CONCACAF too much coverage. on a slightly unrelated subject I was baffled at how the USA has pretty much hosted every Gold Cup themselves (apart from 2 or 3 occasions where they co-hosted it with Mexico). I would like to see say Canada host it, they are building some pretty nice Football/Soccer specific stadiums over in Canada now, also how about Mexico host a tournament themselves? They have the stadia for it. Thought they just rotated it? Dunno tbh. Guess it's for ticket revenues as the USA has a massive immigrant population. I have no idea tbh, don't follow the CONCACAF region at all really, don't find it particularly interesting although the MLS seems to be doing alreet. You would have thought so but no. Anyway thats pointless as Mexico itself is a football hotbed, most of the immigrants who follow football in the USA are from the nation that compete in the Gold Cup. It would just be nice for them to share it around like they do for the Euro's. In dream world I'd like to see Canada host a World Cup, maybe even if they co-hosted with the USA. FIFA are supposed to want to bring it to countries that aren't really into football, USA and Canada are the two last nations in the Western world where football isn't popular. It's growing, the MLS has shown that in recent years. What will happen when the likes of Beckham and Henry retire though?, will it go the way it did in the 70's and 80's and become a nothing league again? or will both countries start producing their own talent and their own stars? I'd love to see football take off over there, yeah it's probably not going to be the most popular sport in other country, but with an increase of immigration to both countries, hopefully and increase in talent created by both countries then it could quite easily become a good 2nd favourite sport or summer sport in both countries. Its like on Fm when you've got Smith on the books for the final year of his £60kpw contract, you try a mutual termination but he won't have it, then you hover over the release button, stuck when you see it will cost you £3m...so you leave him there. They will have to pay hin in full to go, so if you can't remove him, move him sideways, upstairs or somewhere else, at least he's doing something and you get something back for your money. Also any manager worth having won't go anywhere near that club, they are a disgrace to football and on course to destroy rovers. They could find themselves in a situation where they sack him, then find no one better wants the job.
