This is spot on. Weve got ameobi, lovenkrands, pancrate, carrol and ranger. we need midfield stength. We have five strikers and would be comfortable even if Ameobi gets another injury (Or anyone for that matter). Ameobi, Caroll, Ranger, Lovenkrands, Pancrate, even Nolan if we get some kind of injury crisis, which I think is doubtful. Harewood will just push Lovenkrands and Ranger further down the pecking order, and Lovenkrands would be a much more effective striker than Harewood if he got games. Anything can happen and if Nolan gets shifted upfront then that means that we'll see super Nicky Butt backflipping his way into the starting 11 week after week. In all fairness, we'll still see much more of Nicky Butt this season, and Nolan will probably be put behind the front man for a lot of away performances (Regardless of if we sign Harewood or not), meaning it will likely be Butt and Smith in central midfield. Even when Barton's back in the new year, he'll be seen as competition for Ryan Taylor and Pancrate and Guthrie on the right or left. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

buzza Posted December 28, 2009 Share Posted December 28, 2009 I would say harewood has got better with the games he has played but constantly irritates with lack of effort going for 50/50s and the pestering of defenders.
