Report: New kit deal agreed with Puma

Sad to see the end of Addidas link up tbh. They are a quality brand, along with Nike the best sports brand in the world. The for me made our best ever kit in 95/96 coupled with that great away kit. Although I do agree with the comment that their recent efforts have been somewhat lazy.

Puma are a decent brand too, I'm sure they produce a nice kit, it makes sense for new kit manufactures to put the effort into producing a good first kit. Newcastle is a great land for them, one of the largest supporter bases in the country who tend to spend a lot of money on replica kits, also after being with the same manufacturer for over 15 years they will get a lot of trade from people ready for a change, great TV exposure for their brand too.

Ghana's away shirt, shows the latest Puma design with stripes.

Ghana are playing as we speak, so you will be able to see the back of the shirt which has a non stiped back panel.

tbh whilst all the African ones are like that, the new Puma shirts for Switzerland etc are just fairly boring, fairly loose fitting standard footy shirts.

There be Uruguay. It just looks like a normal, fairly ugly, footy shirt.

I watched some of the Ghana match, and those things are disgusting. Adidas has made Nigeria kits way too boring, but at least we don't have to wear that rubbish.

I just hope we loose the shite Northern Rock logo on the patch, I prefer the style of the sponsor on our away shirts and 3rd strips.

Indeed the big black box needs to go. 3 seasons now with that crap. Just slap a thick enough border around the Northern Rock text and it's fine.

I have an Atlante football shirt from when I went to Mexico last year, and the sponsors are the same material as the rest of the shirt is, so their is no lumps and bumps or the horrible black panel we have had over the last couple of years. Anyway I don't know how they do it, colour dye or something similar, but the colour never runs (and theirs more then one colour and alot of detail within it) and it look so much better. It also feels lighter aswell, the current because of the sponsor feels too heavy at the front.

I would love something similar with our new shirt.
