themanupstairs
Peddling this waste of space would earn SMC a lot of slack from my side. Took him all of 5 minutes to figure out that he's a useless pardball oaf that has no place in the PL let alone a team that should be aiming for the top 7. sempuki
The Magpies are believed to have told Yoan Gouffran, Haris Vuckic and Mike Williamson they also won’t be assured a regular game this term. Vuckic fancies a move back to Glasgow Rangers, where he spent last season on loan, while Gouffran has been offered around Ligue 1 clubs by his agent. There has also been interest in Williamson from Brighton & Hove Albion, but the player has recently made it clear his first choice is to battle for his place. Possibly not, but it maybe in his best interested to move now for lower wages but over a longer period of time. There is only 1 club really after him, when a Premier League player is on the move a stack of clubs are usually interested, even if they are in the Championship, another year at this level and he won't have any clubs after him. bodson
I cant find any information about which club he has been sold to...? Wikipedia seems slow on the updates and reports him as still being a NUFC player... Imagine that!
BeloEmre
Guess he will be loaned out when that window opens for the CCC clubs.
triggs
Tbf kinda hard to sell when nobody wants the player you're selling, same with Gouffran
Guest Geordiesned
Tbf kinda hard to sell when nobody wants the player you're selling, same with Gouffran Which is precisely the reason why we should be paying up their contracts and getting them off the wage bill. Yes that would mean an outlay now but it would free up squad places for players who we actually want.

But paying up their contracts is basically the same as just leaving them there to rot isn't it, in terms of finances?

sempuki
At least Williamson and Obertan have less than a year left - unless we extend their contracts to protect their value. Which is probably about 50p.

But paying up their contracts is basically the same as just leaving them there to rot isn't it, in terms of finances? But why prolong it? Getting in better replacements may mean further wages to be paid but it will benefit the club in terms of better quality available for the first team and will also aid younger players in the squad. I dread to think of our up and coming youth players (when they get to train with the first team squad) learning anything from Williamson.
