Broadsword
I can't bring myself to believe this one is going to come off. He most probably won't as he must have PL options closer to home. If he does then great - if not it'll be like when John Salako preferred Coventry City to us. Remember that ? what? john solako was all but signed until the deal with PSG for geourge weah went pear shaped and they sold him to ac milan and offered us ginola as a sweetener, sory but solako never turned us down, in fact i remember he was very bitter at the way we dropped him like a lead baloon in favour of ginola I thought Salako failed his medical? Decided that he wanted more time to think things through, and then decided that he didn't want to move North.

Seems the 'official' line may have been the 'too far north' one though... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football--salako-dismisses-newcastle-as-a-move-too-far-1587765.html

relámpago blanco
Transfers are odd, you get linked with a player you get excited then if you sign him you're happy for 5 mins then you think right, who is next.
ikri
It's not Monday for clubs in Administration though, I think clubs in administration are allowed to do buisness outside the transfer windows. Sometimes, clubs get special dispensation to sell players outside a transfer window, but that generally only applies when a club goes into administration after the transfer deadline has passed. I recall quite clearly he didn't want to come north. He never got to a medical as far as I was aware Solako claimed that Newcastle were too far north for him. I remember reading an interview with a South African talking about the Solako transfer who had joked that you couldn't claim anywhere was too far north if you could travel there in under two days.
