Apparently Quinn used the Toon under Sir John Hall and KK era as the selling point to Ellis Short. Something along the lines of spend big and we'll take off just like the Geordies did back in the 90s...

Can kind of see where Quinn's coming from, in that the North East has great potential if utilised properly. But it's not as simple as he puts it. And theres a huge difference between a club like us and a club like them.

There's a huge gulf between Keegan's Newcastle and Bruce's Sunderland though.

he's cheering a sell out? good lord you'd expect the chairman of a lower league side to feel pleased about a sellout to the extent of lauding it in the press but a prem side having an excellent season with lowered ticket prices vs one of the countrys biggest sides thats not much to crow about

They've managed to sell out 1 game! Fucking woop-de-do! Look at the attendance for the next game at home against WBA when they aren't letting season ticket holders buy two additional tickets for a tenna each, they'll be back down to 37,000.

It's taken a top team to come, concession tickets and a rather aggressive, lengthy and embarrassing recruitment drive from their Chairman to get a full house...dear me.  bluelaugh.gif

I wish we offered some kind of ST cheaper tickets, it's a good idea to be fair.

We'd get it if less people went to matches, but they don't.
