Chris Hughton will take on League One Carlisle United in their first warm-up game. The fixture has been agreed between the two clubs, but Newcastle are yet to release the date. However, Brunton Park doesn't hold good memories for Joey Barton, who suffered a fractured metatarsal in a friendly at Carlisle in 2007 in what was only his second game for the club. The old firm are probably 2 of only a small amout of clubs that will sell out their allocation in a pre-season friendly. I dont see everybodys problem with playing Rangers or celtic, Newcastle have probably got the same amount of bigotted and racest fans as each of them. That goes for most clubs.
