TaylorJ_01
Probably been mentioned, but Essien is out of the World Cup, according to the BBC That's a real shame. He's had rotten luck this season. It's equivalent to us losing Rooney tbh.
ponsaelius
Netherlands squad doesn't look too scary tbh Attack wise it does. Defense is very meh.
TaylorJ_01
Netherlands squad doesn't look too scary tbh Attack wise it does. Defense is very meh. As usual really. I predict Robben to have a stonker (good way) of a tournament.

Mr. Snrub
Well, Messi will be there. Maradona didn't play him against Canada because "if he got injured he knows he'd be shot"

It's equivalent to us losing Rooney tbh. Far worse tbh, Rooney maybe vital to us, but not nearly as vital as Essien is to them imo. Definitely disagree with this. The forwards are England's weakest outfield position. There aren't any other players in the squad who can even fill Rooney's role. Ghana's strongest position on the pitch is the one Essien frequents. While there won't be a player of his calibre, there are many able replacements.

Disco
People getting robbed already down Saffa way. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/feedarticle/9100740 JOHANNESBURG, May 28 (Reuters) - Police arrested two hotel workers on charges of stealing from Colombia's national soccer team, in South Africa for a friendly match ahead of next month's World Cup, the Times newspaper reported on Friday. "Two female employees of the plush Hyde Park Southern Sun Hotel, in northern Johannesburg, were arrested and appeared in court...charged with stealing 21,000 rand ($2,743) worth of U.S. dollars from members of the team on Monday," the national newspaper said. Security and crime have been major issues ahead of the World Cup because of South Africa's high rate of violent crime. Crime is among the factors blamed for lower-than-expected foreign bookings to attend the tournament. The Times said the women had allegedly stolen the cash from the Colombian team's suitcases at the hotel, which will host Slovenia's World Cup squad due from June 8. The accused appeared in court on Thursday but were not asked to plead. In June last year Egypt's soccer team said some players had had their hotel rooms burgled and wallets stolen during the Confederations Cup tournament in South Africa.
