Flip
Needs to pass the ball at times at a faster rate, but showed the quality he has with the ball at his feet.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
I hope so. Carried the ball, won free kicks, nice glimpses of his agility and frame.
Andy
Needs to pass the ball at times at a faster rate He didn't need to do that at all today. He was brought on to slow the game down and he did it brilliantly.
Tachikoma
Good work today, wasn't much use defending but did everything he had to almost perfectly
Tooj
Played a key role at the end of the game today, knew we had to keep the ball and didn't try too many things that would lead to him giving the ball away. Still looks short of sharpness and a yard off to what we saw last year, just needs game time to get his zip back.
thewellander
Going against top quality teams in the next three games, I really want to see Ben Arfa out there. Looked good today. Was obviously told to keep the ball and run down the clock and did just that.

David28
Promising and good to know that he's getting back to full fitness. We'll need him now with Marv, Obertan and Guthrie all injured (or probably injured) and Gosling not looking too good.
krybel
Much better today. Starting to look like the old Ben Arfa and is ready to start matches. Nice work from Pardew easing him in.
Yorkie
A marked improvement on recent cameos. Perfectly content with his current progression, tbh. He'll get there.

Taylor Swift
He did well. Did what he was sent on to do. He lost the ball maybe only twice too, and both were when he was near their penalty area. He kept it simple, held the ball up well and was pretty much the only guy - apart from S Ameobi - who was willing to keep possession at the end, which was of great benefit. I am not sure if you remember the match but SaAmeobi and Barfa were brought on as subs. The rest of those that you are criticizing had been putting in a pretty intense shift from the start and most had played the Monday night game. The fact that they gutted it out at the end was impressive and hardly a cause for your criticism.

Yorkie
Trying to hard to impress Did you watch a repeat of the Spurs game by accident? He wasn't like that at all today. Pardew sent him on for tactical reasons; he was there to keep the ball. He did that.
juniatmoko
he did good job as pardew expect him to do... just give us more possesion time... look sharper too... with only BA upfront that was expected he must do. If he pass it forward the chance of losing possession is bigger.
ATB
The comments in this thread is embarrassing to read. Can´t believe what I´m reading.
Guest hatem garrincha
Trying to hard to impress Not really no. He was "selfish" in one occasion when he could have pass the ball to Ba. But the pass was complicated to do, so he kept the ball and searched a better position to give it. He lost it yes but it was well tried.
