Dokko
We've lacked a British heart and spine for some time and we suffer for it. People dismiss it and point towards Colback and Taylor as an example of why we don't need it but it's irrevlant, we need quality British players, not just British players. That seems to get lost on a few. Noble isn't the greatest player in the world but he'd walk in to this team, if only Colback was as good as him we'd have somewhere to start. We need to go all out and bring in two or three very good British players, at least one with some leadership qualities. I think then we'd see a better core for foriegn talent to settle around and improve. Gone are the days you buy foriegn to add another dimension, now you buy foriegn because it's cheap, we've done too much of this then try to fill in the gaps with average to poor British players. Of course it's not working, it never really has Also whoever said Carr is buying players not suited for the league is correct. We need more mentally mature players with physical attributes that stand out. Too many shandy balls groomed to an inch of their lives are arriving who care more about having the status of a footballer rather than playing it. The balance of this club is fucked up, no doubt they try and fix that by going cheap on the continent again and not actually address any of the issues. The one area we didn't need English was the manager, but the stupid fuckers went there any way. We have no heart, no leader, no fight or character, I said many moons ago I can't identify with the club, it's not what it has always represented and of course this latest batch of players feel the same, but shit doesn't work out they move on, if not they refuse to play or stroll around not giving a fuck because there's no one in the dressing room ready to nail the fuckers to the wall for taking the piss. Shearer, speed, Nolan, Barton, Harper, even Bellamy would have knocked the fuck out of cisse for his performances this season while Tiote would have been driven out the club. Instead no balls colo only cares about what he takes home and once we stop paying him more than any one else will he's off.
Kanj
Shearer, Speed, Barton, Nolan, Harper and Bellamy type players are dieing breed it seems these days it seems. Obviously quality and personalities.
Mole_Toonfan
Those players have to be good too though, that's why i dismiss it as i don't want any old rubbish just because they have a british passport. Most of the names that get brought up are fucking crap.

Gallowgate Toon
If the rumours from the weekend turned out to be OTT and he's in a decent headspace, I'd chuck him in. He's shit but probably just a bit less shit than the others and he doesn't hide and plays with a modicum of passion. It mightn't be fashionable to admit it but we do need some fighters in there because it's not going to be skill that gets us out of this mess. Disco
Can't do any worse (and what a crime that is in itself, given that I can't remember the last time he had a good game)
Pilko
I've been "done" with Tiote for nearly three years now but even I'd play the cunt against Chelsea. We need to change it somehow.

The College Dropout
If he's fit enough for the bench, he's fit enough to start ahead of Gouffran in central midfield. How we are one injury away from playing Gouffran in CM I will never know.
AyeDubbleYoo
Being British has nothing to do with it. We're hardly the only nation that knows how to compete in sport.
xLiaaamx
I don't get the hate for Cheick at all. We missed him massively once he got injured last year.
Ronaldo
I wouldn't expect you to.
Varadi
Tiote is limited but when we've got used to seeing the likes of Ryan Taylor and Gouffran in centre midfield it will be a big relief to have him back.
Dokko
Tiote has made himself unavailable for football for about a year. We should have torn his contract up in the summer and seen him in the courts. It's a damn shame as we miss him badly.
relámpago blanco
I often wonder what goes on with him. II didn't honk we would have him more than a couple of years. He clearly had everything to be a Makelele.
AyeDubbleYoo
The potential Tiote would be really useful, but it's been so long since he's been anywhere near it.

AyeDubbleYoo
Shit man, he never broke into a run. Baffling decision to start him, clearly nowhere near ready.
Mole_Toonfan
Predictable as fuck tbh, he's been shite for years. Hopefully everybody realises that now.
The College Dropout
He was awful. Looked unfit. Slow as owt. Couldn't run. Not entirely surprising since i'm sure that was his first start since January.
sbnufc
Here's me thinking he was taken off at HT because he was fucking awful. Apparently not, he was just bedding him in after injury, seems he'll start against the mackems Steve McClaren has revealed that Cheick Tiote is in the box seat for more action in the Wear-Tyne derby this Sunday. The Ivory Coast international made his first Premier League start of 2015 in the 6-2 win over Norwich City. He picked up a booking and was subbed at half-time, but McClaren is happy with what Tiote brought to the table. And he feels he will benefit from a 45 minute run out against the Canaries. McClaren said: “We are trying to get Cheick involved again because we think he can be a big player for us. He wasn’t going to last the game – it was his first game, he’s trained for two weeks. sempuki
High chance of another sending off in the derby next week if he plays. We so badly need to get another CM in January.
