We're missing the point that there's no way we're getting 4-6 points, with or without Tiote.

Waste of time risking him.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that we could have pinched a draw this afternoon and beat WBA with him in the side.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we could do that without him.

Both are heavily unlikely, of course.

As well as being a very good player, he's quite educational too. I think over the course of the season we've all learnt a lot about the suspension rules.

Justified leaving him out, well done Pards. :snod:

Aye, but think that's more to do with R.Taylor having a game of McClen v Arsenal like proportions.

Nah. Chelsea are just his 'us' now that he plays for us. Two games at Stamford Bridge, two free kick goals (even if Jonas deflected the one today!)

If he's always going to have an 'us', Chelsea certainly isn't a bad choice

Toon star’s £60,000 car towed away

CAR SEIZED ... Cheik Tiote's 60,000 BMW was taken away by police.

Published on Monday 16 May 2011 12:02

NEWCASTLE United star Cheik Tiote has had his luxury car seized by police for motoring offences.

The 24-year-old’s white £60,000 BMW X6 has been hauled away from his home because police suspect the Ivorian does not have an insurance policy for the vehicle.

The midfielder’s 4x4 was pulled over in his street in Jesmond, Newcastle, on Wednesday evening during a routine patrol.

An officer is said to have typed his number plate into the police database, which flagged up the problem with the car.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police has confirmed that a white BMW was lifted from Tiote’s address over insurance allegations.

He has now been reported to the police and could face a fine, penalty points on his licence or even a driving ban if the allegations are proved.

Eyewitnesses claim Tiote spoke with the officer for several minutes before a tow truck arrived and took away his car, which is believed to have a foreign number plate.

A resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “There was some police action outside his house and I saw a tow truck come along and load his car.

“Tiote was with two friends at the time, and he kept talking away with the officer until his car was taken away.”

He has a cheaper car than I'd expect for a footballer

He WAS on a low wage for a footballer, mind now he is on half decent money I am expecting to see him in an angry Merc.
