Cheick Tioté (1986-2017)

It's bad, but then again Tiote didn't even have a pre-season with us last year and came straight in. There won't be a language barrier to get around, and it's hardly as if they'll not have been drilled together in training.

In other words, nowhere near as bad as some people are making out.

They'll have been in training together about twice.

It's still completely and utterly avoidable, though.

The dental thing, the visa issue. Both of them, if we're going by how the press have reported them, sound like they could have been solved with a bit more attention to detail and meticulous forward planning.

As I said elsewhere, the only game excused is Darlington where Tiote was injured.

When your visa expires, in most cases you have to leave the country and can only come back when its be re-issued.  These things can take time and there is little you can do about it.

Must have missed when this happened to every other African player in the league.

As has been said a new Visa should take 7 days.

Tiote has still not been granted his visa from the Ivory Coast Embassy in Ghana and is training with physio Derek Wright in Accra.

United are confident he will be back in time for the opener with Arsenal.

Pardew said: “He is still trying to get his visa. It has nothing to do with the football club – it is nothing to do with the British end.

“We are putting enough pressure on them. It is not ideal.

“Derek is out there and it is the best scenario we can have.

“We have tried to get a local team for him to train with, but it is not working out. We need to make sure it is structured for him.”

ffs

A total joke, this is. What a fucking pre-season this has been.

I don't get it...

It has nothing to do with the British end.

What? Then how couldn't he get back in the country? Have the Ivory Coast deleted Chiek Tiote from existence
