madras
I thought the joke was that they were quite kooky looking pictures, not that they were black.
Guest bimpy474
Well the joke changes, doesn't it? The joke for Incog and Mick is "Ha ha old!" The joke for me is "Ha ha black!" fwiw, Things on here directed at me that have actually offended me are few and far between. Putting up with the dumb shit means I can be as apparently racist as I am in the NFL and NBA threads.

ujpest doza
I've got plenty of ammo to fire at Mike resorting to racism. I mean, the guy bashed one out to the concept of his cousins tits. That's enough to go on for years. Plus the Liverpool shit and the awful array of sports teams he follows. All of this should be used first before lowering one's standards and playing the cheap black jokes. The fact Taylor thought this was acceptable is a problem. You should never resort to a joke about somebody's colour, race, sexuality or religion. It's completely uncalled for, even in the world of 'friendly banter'. When I was at school a couple of black friends used to rip each other all the time using racial slur's. I never found it funny. A Pakistani guy in my class used to get cheap laughs by calling other Indians/Pakistani's paki's. I never found that funny either. I've worked in an all white team before, and in a group with only one black person. Both times I pulled people up on racial 'banter'. I also resent the idea that I'm offended for other people. I'm not, I'm offended for me. I find that sort of behaviour offensive. If the other person wants to accept it then fine but that doesn't mean I have to think it is acceptable. I can accept there are differences between people genetically, mentally, physiologically, spiritually and philosophically but they don't need to be pointed out at all, and they need to be made fun of even less. They're not important and it's about time the world realised this. The manager of our footie team at uni, a British Indian lad, consistently used to go on about not wanting 'any dirty pakis on my team'. I can still remember the silence that struck the room the first time he said it. Crazy. The paper shop around the corner from my house is owned by an Indian lad. The off licence around the corner is owned by a Pakistani lad. The hate each other, the indian lad is always saying fucking paki this fucking paki that. He advised against me going to a particularly tandoori restaurant because they were "fucking pakis" telling me to go to an indian owned one.

He advised against me going to a particularly tandoori restaurant because they were "fucking pakis" telling me to go to an indian owned one. It's funny you say that, because it's always struck me as odd the way "Paki" is a racist slur in the UK. I mean, I understand the how and the why of it, but it's just different to my experience. In Australia, "Paki" is an abbreviation with absolutely no racial-hatred overtones. It's something I'd use and I'm as pinko-PC as it gets. The only time it does get used here is when the Pakistani cricket team is playing ours. It makes your story of Asian businessmen even stranger - combining the racial-hatred element but also differentiating between Pakistani and other sub-continental "new Britons"... Guest hydeous
Why is anyone surprised that Indians can be racist against Pakistanis? Is that really racism? We're the same race. Nationalism / misplaced patriotism / stupidity, maybe? Not saying it's right for anyone to hate anyone, but comparing India vs pak (4 wars since 1947, religious differences and ongoing border issues wrt kashmir) to white vs black racism isn't really an accurate comparison. Well it's not exactly the same, but it shows that anyone is capable of prejudice and racism.

BlueStar
http://www.thefa.com/News/governance/2013/nov/taylor-warned.aspx The FA has issued a reminder to Mr Steven Taylor of Newcastle United FC in respect of the public nature of social networking websites, and the risk of postings being taken out of context, following a post he made to Twitter of four pictures on 15 November. Steven Taylor has confirmed to The FA that the four pictures he posted on his Twitter account were sent to him by Massadio Haidara. One picture was of Mr Haidara himself, one was of Vurnon Anita, and the other two were selected by Mr Haidara as “lookalikes” of Papiss Cisse and Moussa Sissoko. These facts have also been confirmed by Mr Haidara. All four are players at Newcastle United FC. Mr Taylor posted these pictures on his Twitter account as a response to those teammates laughing at his efforts to learn French. This followed a picture posted earlier by Mr Haidara, apparently of Mr Taylor learning French. In these circumstances, The FA will take no further disciplinary action in respect of this matter.
