Agree with Gouf as he fits along with the "we will never get a fee" brigade perfectly. Then Rafa can concentrate on the sissies of the club who need moving on who might garner a fee.

In fairness to him although he was never good enough, he is a fan and he loved the club and the region. The amount of charity work he done on behalf of NUFC is extremely commendable too.

Still absolute horseshit as a player, though. Glad to see the back of him.

A one year deal wasn't the worst idea in the world, he'd have still done a job in the Championship.

Good news overall though.

Would've played about 5 games. Fuck that. Rather have someone with the same ability (which isn't hard to find) who will play more games. As you say though, it's fantastic news.

Absolutely shit defender and a complete bellend to boot. Delighted that he's finally going.

Probably my best memory of him, apart from imagining his cries for help as Carroll pounded his jaw in.

I remember a friend coming back from watching his son play in a youth game years ago raving about this amazing defender that was playing.  Turns out it was Taylor and at the start of his career he really did have a lot of potential to become a good player.

Sadly he's got all the intelligence of a doorstop and gets injured every time the wind changes direction and never managed to develop into the player he might have been.  All he's actually done is take up a space in the squad and earn a ludicrous wage way beyond his ability.  He's been another of the players who we've needed to replace for years but the idiot beancounters running the club never seem to see beyond a contract to see the player under it.  Now, with him gone (and hopefully a bunch of others to follow) we might actually be able to build a squad that gets more time on the pitch than in the treatment room.

Disagree with the "would have done a job in the Championship" line. Would rather we look longer term and try to build a defence that knows each other and lasts, rather than chopping and changing the heart of the defence in the transfer window on the eve of a Premiership season.

Yep, exactly. He'd either have been injured or dragging those around him down. He was decent in the Championship 7 year ago but he's vastly deteriorated physically since then. Time to start building for the future, and he doesn't have one.
