I have always criticised Given for his lack of communication to his defenders... however... Lehman and Alumnia aren't exactly talkers either. Arsenal didn't need a vocal commanding 'keeper. Given - a shot stopper - in an already *very* organised defence was perfect for Arsenal.

imo he should have just offered £20m to Lyon for Lloris and solved a problem that could have seen us won the league if resolved.

 

No offence to Arsenal,  but the only player that might get into the Man Utd or Chelsea sides is Fabregas, with a particular emphasis on the word might. You need to improve all over, not just in goal.

 

No offence to you, but you need your head testing. You cannot seriously think that Fabregas only might get into the side of either Man Utd or Chelsea.

Nah people manage it all the time.  They just assume one of the possible meanings is the true meaning and take that literally :)

Dont know if its already been mentioned but i see Spuds are saying that a "technical hitch" stopped them getting the VDV deal done in time and want special dispensation

Come on man Fabregas would walk into any Premiership side, especially Man United, their centre-mid is bloody awful compared to what it used to be.

Nah, psyche! Fabregas would get into most teams in Europe, never mind the PL. In my eyes Arsenal need a goalkeeper and a new striker. I imagine that's what most people think they need. What are the chances of Almunia becoming a goalkeeper?
