Pity we've no Swandive Taylor in the side like last time.

The way referees and assistants have been against us this season, I'm willing to dump my morals out of the window and go all out for a dodgy penalty/freekick.

We should just drop down like flies every time we near the box, I mean if everyone else does it then it's surely acceptable for us to?

We really need to start seeing the likes of Vuckic and Ranger on the bench instead of Ryan Taylor and Lovenkrands.

purely on tonights performance i'd agree with rangerloven...........vuckic,however, has shown nothing against grown ups yet.

I think he's shown flashes of what he's about. He's also massive for someone who's just turned 18. We can't really afford to loan Ranger* out because of lack of striking options but Vuckic is the one we should definitely be looking to give game time at a Championship club.

* :boomboom:

Dunno if they'd be able to afford him but somewhere like Donny or Norwich would be good for him. Two teams that like to get it down on the deck.

We lose this, and what was the point of tonight? :shifty:

We'd definitely had won the cup if we lose on Sunday and next season we'd have won the UEFA Cup. Hughton out.

Just saying, following tonight's 'resting of players', the pressure is even more on us to win this.

Their strength seems to be their defence and they've done well in the games against the top teams where they've been able to sit back and absorb pressure and try to knick it on the break. Against lesser opposition though where they've got to come out and play they haven't done too well.

Long may this trend continue and we'll pick up the 3 points so long as we don't put it in our own net or give away a penalty.

did you see there games v arsenal and citeh ? very much second best. they are only slightly better than the safc team that wentdpown with craog russell when all season they said "we have conceded so few goals"......they done it by defending by the 10 even when they were attacking..........then too late they realised they had to score to stop up.

2nd best vs Villa too. Add in debatable penalties and own goals and you have Sunderland this season. They'll thankfully be nowhere near their current position come the end of the season.

last season early on they were very good, they deserved to be man utd at the theatre of balh blah, bacause they have got good results this season against the good teams they think they are good without seeing that their performances were poor.
