Deuce
The South American football confederation is expected to support Sepp Blatter in FIFA's presidential elections. A source has told The Associated Press that CONMEBOL's executive committee made the decision after hearing proposals from Blatter and other candidates Tuesday. There was no official announcement by CONMEBOL, but a person familiar with the decision confirmed to the AP that football's governing body in South America will support Blatter in his bid for a fifth four-year term in May. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement had not been made. The other candidates are FIFA Vice President Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan, Dutch federation head Michael van Praag and Portugal great Luis Figo, who was the only candidate yet to arrive in Paraguay ahead of CONMEBOL's general congress. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/638e56996537402a948d6dec34eaab5e/source-south-american-confederation-support-blatter

Disco
Blatter and FIFA have done relatively well by South America in fairness, still have loads of teams in the WC, held a WC recently. Letting them hold another Copa America in a money rich environment. Assumed massive kickbacks for shite officials ahoy - why would they change it? Letting them hold another Copa America in a money rich environment. Assumed massive kickbacks for s**** officials ahoy - why would they change it? Africa is behind Blatter as well for similar reasons. Also, the corruption in FIFA and football and general is much deeper than Blatter. He gets a lot of the press because he is the figurehead and a buffoon in his media dealings, but removing him changes very little, imo.

Guest chopey
Those poor players, only got 7 years to prep for a winter world cup by which time the average wage for a premier league player will be about £150,000 a week. My heart bleeds.

Deuce
Speaking before the second leg, Bhutan’s captain, Karma Shedrup Tshering, said the squad were not getting carried away. “Everyone was talking about us being at the bottom but we didn’t feel any pressure because you can only go one way from there and that’s upwards,” he said. “All the expectation was on Sri Lanka and they were talking a lot about beating us, but we kept our calm and let our football talk for us.” Well, they did have karma on their side. Flip
So it's been decided that the World Cup Final 2022 will be played on December 18th. Ridiculous. I associate World Cup with June/July. I hate this idea. FIFA are rotten. Just today information came out they made a $5billion profit on the WC in Brazil while the Brazilian people paid $30billion out of their own pocket. Great. FIFA were generous enough to hand the Brazilian football generation a donation worth $100m which has already disappeared into bunch of old dudes pockets. Interpolic
If this isn't an "Enough's enough" issue for some of the major nations then nothing is, FIFA can just do whatever the hell they like forever. Still livid they got awarded the WC in the first place, never mind all this shite.
