He should get on the phone to Pardew to offer him some advice. Tell him that he'd tried and failed with 4-5-1 as we don't have the midfielders to support the lone striker and instead he should play 4-4-fucking-2!

Off to Crystal Palace is the rumour. Odds have fallen dramatically.

He'll fail miserably.

He really should melt back into a decent coaching role and forget all about being a manager ever again.

Did he shag your mam or something?

When Crumpy came out of the womb, he looked up at his mum and told her that she wasn't good enough.

Is Simon Jordan still there?

He's a fool if he goes from Ashley to Jordan.

Jordan has gone, he went earlier last year when Palace went into admin.  If you remember they went from pushing for a play off place to fighting against relegation last season around the time we played them.

It is hard to judge him as a manager because although he did a great job for us, the circumstances with us were so unique and he had the good fortune to have some talented players with a strong mentality who were determined to prove a point to their critics.

I am not sure that if he went to a struggling club where he did not know the players, he would be able to change things in time.  I think he would be better off with a stable Championship club as his next job where he won't be under pressure from day one.

CH is unproven at managing a team of ave players.

in newcastle he had players more talented than the league they were in.  It made him look better than he really is.

imo a team hiring him is taking a gamble.

Load of bollocks.

We were the best team in the league but the team still needed to be brought together and picked up after relegation. Not many tipped us for automatic promotion and Hughton brought us that with room to spare. He probably wasn't the long-term option but his achievements here were by no means easy.

Yeah but we didn't realise how poor the league was, fact!

Does make you wonder why teams pay so much for managers these days, surely you just need someone to train them and someone to pick 11 names out of a hat because it's entirely down to the players.

Surely our team in the relegation season was better than many around it but they couldnt play for shit, Hughton stabilised the club and protected them from the press on many of occasions, plus he is universally liked by all the players so they all played their socks off for him.

Anymore word on Palace? Another loss for Ipswich today, Keane on a tightrope. Would love him to come down here :smitten: Even if it means the bastards round here get something to cheer about.

Not really a follower of this 'oh he's managing X and now i'll support them as my second team' lark, but if its Ipswich then its a different situation altogether.
