Krul 6 - Couldn't of done much about the goal, alright overall.

 

Simpson 6 - Got forward alright but he was suspect at the back at times.

Taylor 6 - Alright.

Campbell 4 - Too slow, too sloppy, not good enough.

Enrique 6 - Did alright defensively, sloppy going forward.

 

Barton 8 - Man of the match for me, worked hard and looked a constant threat, deserved a goal.

Nolan 7 - Looked better with him in the side today, put in a good shift and gave us the early advantage.

Tiote 7 - More of the same, shame Campbell got him booked.

Jonas 4 - Sloppy, didn't really look arsed.

 

Carroll 8 - The lad's a monster in the air, great finish for the third.

Shola 3 - A true return to form in recent weeks, he offered absolutely nothing.

 

Ranger 8 - Not his greatest fan but he changed the game today, never let the back four rest.

 

Pardew 8 - Picked the best possible line up, changed the game with the Ranger substitution well played. Still a twat though.

Obviously it's clear that Ashley has to go after everything he's done, and he'll never be forgiven. I think we've struck lucky today and couldn't be happier after a shit week but yes, the vast majority of fan unrest will still (rightfully) remain.

Krul 6 - flapped a bit on crosses but made an important save from Torres, no chance with the goal

 

Simpson 6 - did ok, better going forward than defensively

Campbell 4 - not at the races today. Many an error made

Taylor 5 - average at best

Enrique 6 - did alright defensively, didn't offer as much as normal going forward

 

Barton 8.5 - goal and didn't put a foot wrong

Nolan 8 - goal and helped control midfield for large parts

Tiote 7 - helped nullify the midfield and really let us get on top second half

Jonas 5.5 - off day for Jonas but still won a lot of decent FKs.

 

Carroll 8 - won most things in the air and what a goal

Shola 4 - not at the races

 

Ranger 7.5 - really looked lively when he came on. Workrate was impressive however he should've scored and got outmuscled easily a couple of times

West Ham are rock bottom of the prem, certain to go down, with a charismatic and warm Manager (irony) and two owners who are almost as clueless as our own.

 

If we lose Barton, it'll be to a club a lot bettert than West Ham United.

Barton was asked how impressed he was with Pardew and his answer was "its only been two days.."

 

Then he got asked "well, a win in his first game" and his answer was "it was more of us this group of lads than him really"

It was a stupid question and Joey handled it pretty well.

 

Ranger looks like a starter for next week, and his emergence could be the stroke of luck that Pardew needed. Before that, we looked like losers.

 

It was unbelievably weak defending by Campbell for their goal. Over the last two years, he's looked mentally vulnerable on occasion, and that was a mini nervous breakdown.

 

The other bit of luck for Pardew is that Williamson will be coming back next game, with no lasting damage done by a very shaky back four.

Well then.

 

It's 4am in Hong Kong and i've just trawled the Island to find a bar that's showing the match. Got evicted at half time after refusing to pay a 16 quid bar tab, for 2 drinks, and managed to find another pub for the 2nd half.

Simpson 7 -  Really enjoying watching him develop, another good game imo.

Taylor 6 - Not a huge fan of his positional sense but did well enough.

Campbell 5 - Poor.

Enrique 7 - Great as usual, was genuinely amused when Torres tried to beat him for pace, no chance 

Barton 8 - Quality, 1 goal, 1 assist and hand gestures at Torres. Love the man.

Tiote 7 - Good battling display in the midfield.

Nolan 7 - How does that taste Messi? Pics or it didn't happen. Oh and was great having Nolan back today.

Jonas 5 - Struggled.

Shola 4 - Not good enough whatsoever.

Carroll 8 - Top class. Assist, goal and 90 minutes of giving their centre backs absolute hell.
