Well, thats another year of supporting Newcastle United over. Hoping we start off next year with a win over Wigan, huge game.

I fully expected to lose this game. What's annoying is that having seen the game, Spurs were no great shakes and we passed up the opportunity of a point. Especially after the sending off. We were rubbish, regardless of the opposition.

Precisely why it was a shit time for Pardew to get appointed.

Two ridiculously hard games, where the result would have been no different - and apparently it's his fault.

Fucking idiots.

didn't see many people blaming him for the city defeat...... but today he made a shit and crucial decision to jonas off. We needed someone to stretch them......... that wasn't going to happen with tiote and smith on the field.

The same Jonas that has offered sweet fuck all this season?

Ranger and Nolan should stay in the team. No place for Routledge, Barton on the right. Keep what was working.

Nolan was suspended.

Slightly bitter about that, we should've got a draw. Peter effing Lovenkrands!

Barton was below par and Tiote was living dangerously there. Wasn't particularly happy with the referee either.

We played well, but anyone assuming we'll be fine needs to look at the table. Its close and we're most certainly part of this relegation battle.

"no great shakers"?  They were clearly the stronger outfit in every department.

and we were rubbish because well, we don't have a good enough squad.

Ditto. Was very much like the performances we put in when we went down. No creativity, few if any chances and little desire/pressure on the game when we should've had the upper hand. Not arsed (particularly) about getting beat its the manner of the defeat that is the problem. We seem to have turned into Wimbledon circa 1990 too, our good performances on the road have come through controlled possession football, I saw none of that today.

To state the obvious: we've been alot worse since Spurs went down to 10 men. And that's entirely because Pardew has unbalanced the entire side with his substitutions.

Nothing to do with the fact that we pushed up higher to try and get the equalizer due to our numerical advantage and got caught on the break. Sure! You would prefer the Hughton way of just standing there looking smug and bringing on Ranger in the 85th minute, at least we won't lose our shape ya!

Because Jonas was so effective in the first 65 minutes.... Honestly forgot he was playing.

People can question his starting XI, but it's hard with 2 games in 3 days.

If we dont get results against Wigan and West Ham then it's time to start worrying, but losing to a top 4 side away from home thanks to 2 pretty decent goals is nothing to be worried about.

He offers legs though which would force Spurs to have played further back and not still have Bale and Lennon playing as wide forwards

Im aware, im talking about the future. Adding defensive players isnt making us better defensively & we clearly need more attacking options.

Crying out for hughton :(

Hughton who took a stronger team to Bolton and got dicked 5-1? Enough.

Exactly people are making out as if Hughton was a Mourinho. Pardew is clearly average but he is no worse than Hughton. In fact I appreciate the fact that he tries to take initiative to change things around through substitutions when we are behind. How many minutes did Ranger get under Hughton?

That's the thing. Spurs are better than us in just about every position but a draw from that game was more than possible. The sending off worked in their favour... the changes Pardew made to exploit the extra man were all a big fucking carcrash. Nightmare.

but he still offered nothing he'd run with the ball then lose it and they counter attack

Bit of an assumption that.

Think he took Jonas off because he was offering nothing.  Pretty acceptable substitution in my eyes.

not in terms of running at the defenders and giving them something to think about. Actually it was his run and cross that setup carroll for a decent chance in the first half.

But maybe you were happy enough with barton on the left and routledge doing fuck all in the 2nd half.

One win in the last eight games.

Barton completely out of touch but the only player that looks likely to do something positive.

Krul should be dropped after Spurs second going in from there coming on the back of City performance.

Yeh spot on mate, I wonder if Inter Milan dropped Cesar when he put 3 past him in a similar fashion to today? Bale is world class and most keepers would have struggled with that.
