john gibson in the chronicle this afternoon;

"John Carver has talked of playing two up top in an effort to score goals, tactically be more direct to grind out points, and just about every other possibility known to man or beast. They are the ramblings of a drowning desperado."

carver again (skysports)

"This is a bad time at the moment," he said. "I can't wait for the good time. I'm really going to enjoy myself, because I have had everything go against me."

wtf has he had go against him? he's only ever been short of 2-3 players each match of putting out a first eleven.

the whole injury crisis thing is a bit of a myth too as its been mainly squad players not first teamers affected. he's been without a left back and a centre half mainly otherwise most of his first team has been fit.

never trust or rely on anybody who doesnt have an ounce of humility or self-awareness.

only a c*** like carver could be more influenced by his time under pardew, than his time as assisstant to SBR.

Bobby used to tell him to wipe the dogshit off Andy O'Brien's boots. Pardew on the other hand fed him a tonne of bullshit about being his Geordie second-in-command.

you can bet pardew used to tell him, "listen to me John. Watch, listen, and learn and one day you will be as good as me and all this wil be yours."

The man is an absolute disgrace.  He's got one of the worst records in Premier League history and he's blaming fans.  He talks about wanting the best for the club, but won't step down and has his lips glued to Ashley's arse with surgical precision to ensure he keeps his job.  Add to that, we've actually got a competent Premier League 11 out there and he's making them all look Sunday league.

It's one thing to have injuries and get a few bad results.  It's quite another to be losing every single game, as to the point where most managers could get more from the same run of fixtures out of a league two side.  He plays long ball to small players, subs off the central midfield every game and constantly makes the team worse with every decision he makes.  He fell out with Jonas, which seems very difficult to do and was probably because Jonas had the balls to ask what his shit tactics were about, with long balls to nowhere and Gouffran in central midfield.

The whole club is a shambles and the fact Carver speaks up for it and thinks he deserves a job, shows he's a desperate job saving leech, or the stupidest man on earth and either way it's terrible for the club that he's still here.  The day he leaves, the club will be better for it, simple as that.

I'm not being funny like but he has genuinely had terrible luck with injuries and suspensions. Not quite Roeder levels but it's been pretty bad. As manager he carries the can for fitness and discipline though.

Even if the first 11 he has put out every week is inferior to the opposition, the very least you expect is for the team to compete and for there to be a coherent gameplan.  Even non-league teams manage that when playing against Premier League teams.
