given instructions to find cheap foreigners we could cash in on - failed at doing that but his biggest mistake was persuading penfold to give his mate schteve a job.

Silly French crowd, everyone knows that should read "For those who dream of England and are shit at football, there's room on Newcastle's bench."

Brought in a few gems but the last few years have been garbage overall really. Time to move on.

He didn't bring in any gems that anyone with half of brain couldn't have recognized, man. Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Debuchy - all 3 French internationals at a good age going for less than £6m.

Went to Bordeaux and got Saivet (and Gouffran albeit way before), while the mackems got Khazri who looks 10x the player any of our recent signings look

Watched Marseille and came back with Thauvin while West Ham snapped up Payet as well. Does he watch the games on the same shite streams as I do, guessing at who's got the ball?

He's never really been a scout, he just knows enough people to exploit contract situations and underpriced players. Perez is the only player close to being a discovery we've signed for years.

And he was discovered by that frail old lady scout we have.

Can see Zelda's discovery leaving sharpish sadly.

I blame this man for our relegation.

He's the football man Ashley has confidence in - the equivalent of Kinnear.

He's a failed manager and a football dinosaur.

McClaren was *his* choice, and the players brought in were *his* choice.

Look at the character of the players signed since he arrived, and you see the cause.

I blame the club not Carr. He should have been scout, use his contacts, etc. as part of an overall scouting network/strategy. Instead, we made him and pretty much him alone THE scouting network/strategy.

I think at first he was onto a winner, but if you rely completely on agents then eventually you'll have to start doing favours for them and they'll start pushing you duds.

Also, it's not Carr's fault if nobody was saying 'find us a centre back and a fullback', it should be the manager who is empowered to decide on priority needs.

I base this on absolutely nothing. But I assume most clubs in the top leagues have a massive scouting system spanning most of the globe, certainly Europe and South America, with a plethora of scouts. We have Graham Carr watching Ligue 1 and Eredivisie, with 2 or 3 goons assisting him in other parts of the world.

Ridiculous! The man to blame is the man who decided to hire him and then give him an EIGHT year contract, with a huge remit, after one reasonable season.

Well of course you have to blame Ashley for everything ultimately, but Charnley is a lickspittle who just does the admin - he has no real influence. Carr makes the football decisions, from what I gather.

As such, the tactics have been his.
