JH
Barton kept drifting inside and Jonas had about four men on him every time he touched the ball. The balance in the team was shocking.
Dr.Spaceman
Not too disheartened by that game tbh. We've played a lot worse than that this season.
Guest MrSundlofer
Ranger blew the best chance of the game in the first half - not exactly a decent half for him. He also won some headers and hold up the ball well. Got tired in the second.
indi
Missed our core because he's playing for Liverpool presumably. Don't insult my intelligence you f***ing snake. Weren't you ready to run Pardew out of town a few months back, because he wouldn't start Ranger? But then Best smashed in a hat trick and you went into hiding. Think he is well within his rights insulting your 'intelligence'. Farcical the way you come on here ranting once the result is bad, but are completely absent when the team does well. Where were you and your 'intelligence' last week? Pathetic stuff. He's fucking right though, you can't sell your best player and then moan about injuries later on. We sold Tiote!?! Dr Venkman
can't even bring myself to be pissed off, it was such a foregone conclusion. really hope we invest in depth for next season but i'm not expecting much

You most certainly can put blame on injury/suspension when you are missing the three players who have consistently given you goal threat and your top midfielder. Not to mention the long term absences of Ireland and Ben Arfa (We've become accustomed to these, but they are players we could use). The squad has always been rather small and inadequate, and this many absences will blatantly have a negative effect on the product. If it was Hughton, people would be making excuses for him. The truth of the matter is that both managers have done alright with limited resources.
AfroP
absolutely muck game. and boring as owt. Blackpool had more fight in them against arsenal ffs. Ranger is useless. Kuqi did more in the 5 mins he was on the pitch than what ranger did all game. unlucky for loven to not score but if we had of performed like that for the whole game rather than just the last 5 we may have gotten a point or even a win

Segun Oluwaniyi
Will Ranger ever be 'ready'? I'd advise him to buy some proper studs Will we ever give him a chance to be? The incompetency of this club has as much to do with his stagnation as his attitude.
JH
If Ranger had Kuqi's experience and intelligence, he'd be laughing. His movement and skill in that last 10 mins was something we'd been lacking all game
Ketsbaia
fucking hell that match was dull and grueling to watch - kinda like our last visit down there. it was a team with ryan taylor, lovenkrands, ranger, kuqi and guthrie so i'm not sure what else we could've ask for, really. not that disappointed with losing but wish it wasn't to bloody Aston Villa. barton was very poor, stevie taylor abysmal and colo didn't have a great time in midfield. that debate should definitely be over now. PS/ david pleat is a shambolic commentator, he was so biased against barton. it was kinda pathetic.
johnnypd
while we had an injury crisis going into this, villa were beatable and i think pardew made some pretty poor choices. but he's not the first manager to put Colo in midfield or to shoehorn taylor into central defence, so i'll let him off. he did seem to realise that particular mistake by making the change, albeit a bit too late. You seem to forget that Ireland was a long term injury before we signed him yet he was the biggest signing in January. Maybe, just maybe, we should have looked at bringing in fit players during the last transfer window.

Maybe, just maybe, we should have looked at bringing in fit players during the last transfer window. From my memory of things, his injury was not considered to be this serious when we signed him. I just saw an article where his return was delayed two weeks at the beginning of February. It just hasn't worked out, but it was an alright risk to take. The only thing I was truly uncomfortable with was loaning Routledge. He didn't produce too much, but he was a body, and we don't have too many of those. Still, the players that are out now form the backbone of this team, and losing them will always hurt.

KaKa
Avoidance. Probably your best option tbf. Where were you after the match Wullie? and the day after that?and the next? You seem to find your way on here after attending matches that don't go well. You should try it after the ones that go well too. How long will you mourn for Carroll and Hughton? How long? Do you even enjoy victories anymore, knowing they have come about with Pardew in charge and Ashley at the helm? Why go to the games at all superfan? Why?
