Sammy Ameobi released

Sammy has some serious moves and can do things only HBA can at the club. With good coaching (a definite problem currently at the club) he could be a very good player. Let's hope it works out.

In terms of pure flair and unpredictability, he's the only player in the squad after Ben Arfa. Obviously, he's a million miles away from Hatem's overall standard and always will be but 'flair' is a trait they both share.

Poor technically, kid has nothing..

The video proves.....?

....very quick feet which enable him to get past an opponent in tight spaces, despite his gangly physique. Nothing we shouldn't know already.

In order not to become a novelty turn, he just needs to add a bit of nous to his game and improve his first touch. Like his big bro, he struggles a bit when the ball comes at him at speed, but once it's under his control, he can use it well.

Chance for the fringe players to stake a place in the squad... no shit!  :yao: :scared:

More worrying..

"We need to put in good performances, not just in one friendly but every single time we are given the chance to play.

"Every time, we have to put the effort in, try and catch the eye and hopefully establish ourselves as part of the first team."

The Ameobi way finally confirmed..  apparently putting in good performances and putting the effort in isn't always a given..

Actually I didn't think much of Carroll at all for his first year or so in the spotlight, so he's a good example of not judging a player too early.

That said, when he was 21 he was our number 9 and scoring lots of goals in the PL.

I think Sammy might be a late developer physically. Might take him a while to gain some strength and stamina. As for reading the game, he needs to be playing. He also needs good coaching. If he gets those then i guess it will be upto him what level he attains.

If his brother has any input he may as well chuck it now.

Summed up how crap he is at Motherwell when even Gabriel Obertan was moaning at him. It doesn't get lower than that.

He was horrendous. The most worrying thing however was that he was just strolling round looking like he was hardly trying. He should be busting a gut and trying impress, not just going through the motions. Obertan was shit too, but he looked interested at least.

But thats impossible.. he clearly said he had to make the most of his opportunity and actually even try hard in these games..

Just watching the goals conceded yesterday and Sammy's defending is absolutely shocking on two of them. He should be out on loan this season as well.

I thought he only came on at half time so wasnt on for the goals ?

You're absolutely right of course. These web stream things...  :dave:

First goal is Dummett and Jonas who f-ks up big time, second is Santon and third is Dummett again.

Apologies for that, Sammy. But I still believe you should be on loan to a Championship club.  ;)
