West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has reassured new manager Sam Allardyce that his job is safe, after just one day in charge.

Allardyce was confirmed as the successor to Avram Grant on Wednesday, chosen by Sullivan and fellow co-owner David Goldas the man to oversee their attempts to return to the Premier League.

He agreed a two-year deal with the Hammers but, hours after his appointment, businessman Tony Fernandes wrote on his Twitter account that he was making a bid for the club.

This claim sparked speculation over Allardyce's future at West Ham, as the former Blackburn and Newcastle manager has twice been sacked by owners that did not employ him.

Nonsense

However, Sullivan told The Sun: "The whole thing is nonsense.

"I can assure Sam he has an unbreakable two-year contract and he is the perfect man for the job.

"I can only think the motivation for this 'takeover' bid is PR. If there was a genuine Russian billionaire out there willing to pump hundreds of billions of pounds into West Ham then we'd step aside for the good of the club.

"But when someone offers to buy your club for buttons and does it via Twitter it is most unhelpful at a time when we are trying to rebuild West Ham."

It's a training purgatory for footballers, where they have to drift about aimlessly on a cold, wet, gray morning while some knob on the PA drones on pointlessly about his shit tactics for no all eternity.

Do any bookmakers take odds on West Ham not been promoted next season? Why they are the bookies favorites is beyond me like.

Boro-syndrome.

They guy has no clue how to win away from home, which will obviously hurt a team aiming for one of the top two positions.

Not at all. Hughton's strategy was win at home, draw away. We did win a fair few away games but even Sam will manage that in this division.

They'll need the funds like, there squad as it is (and especialy after the exodus) is absolutely woeful.

There will be an exodus but that Premiership squad should never have gone down imo.
