Jack Flash
Despite all the hype surrounding Vuckic, he's shown very little. He's injury-prone and other than the WBA home game where he did well, he's done absolutely nowt of any promise in competitive matches for NUFC. A few nice goals in pre-season apart, what else have we seen from him? While the hype around Vuckic was ridiculous and based on essentially nothing, he has only started about 5 games. One he was good in and one he was apparently voted MOTM in.
midds
If Pardew is canny this season he can use the Europa League to give players like Abeid, Vuckic, Bigi, Tav, Gosling, Sammy, Ferguson etc lots of experience whilst resting a few key first-teamers each game to keep them fairly fresh throughout the season. Certainly, he could well come good and I really hope he does cos he has some attributes that look fantastic.
Tiresias
Aye Vuckic could easily still come good, think that the problem is he's meant to be a creative role and have some responsibility for creating chances, it shows up more when he's not doing quite good enough
womblemaster
great finish from abeid, our most promising youth player. Hope to see plenty from him this year.
madras
great finish from abeid, our most promising youth player. Hope to see plenty from him this year. it was but i'd say sammi , tavernier and ferguson are more promising.

Yorkie
Despite all the hype surrounding Vuckic, he's shown very little. He's injury-prone and other than the WBA home game where he did well, he's done absolutely nowt of any promise in competitive matches for NUFC. A few nice goals in pre-season apart, what else have we seen from him? Bigirimana has been in our shirt for five minutes, way too early to say he's 'ahead' of Gosling (able to make 15-20 or so appearances in the season), and Abeid has had two games in our colours where he looked solid yet unspectacular. Gosling hasn't really set the world on fire, but name me one player who has after the length of time out due to injury he has had. I know Ben Arfa might be a tempting example, but he took ages to get up to speed and get in the team (into the weakest part of the team where R.Taylor and Obertan were starting) compared to the form we had in CM - Cabaye, Tiote, Guthrie and even Perch. He'll come good, imo. He had a season to be dipped into the squad and make some sporadic contributions and get his full level of fitness back. I think we'll see him start to fulfil his promise over the coming season, although time will tell. I won't deny that any of them haven't set the world alight, and i'm not saying for definite that any of them are going to be world-beaters. What i said was they've shown more than Gosling, which is absolutely true. I don't think he'll "come good", but as i keep saying - i wouldn't get rid of him because it's one (vital) area of the pitch where competition for places is very healthy. You only have to look at some of our shite seasons in the last decade to see that a decent fight for the shirt can improve performances. Or, more to the point, a lack of competition sees certain players stagnate and go to shit.
Pilko
I agree with the last bit of what you're saying. Watching the Kev and Nicky masterclass in centre-midfield during the relegation season

Vuckic almost scored the goal of the season (pre-cisse) , apart from that he has shown nothing really. I think the Europa League is perfect for him to shine though. The impression I have of Vuckic is that he has the ingredients to be a very good player - looks to have a decent touch, can find a pass, has a hammer of a shot. However he also looks very slow, and doesn't seem to anticipate well enough yet to make up for this. Consequently I think games can pass him by a bit. Think some time on loan could be the making of him - Cardiff were keen to keep him at the end of last season. Hes still only 19 as well - will be 20 in a couple of weeks. Could yet be a very good player for us.

They reckon loan deal with view to a permanent transfer.
Willow
He's one player who I think needs to be making a lot more sub appearances for us this season, so we need to ignore any loan deals. Looking forward to seeing him and marveux finally getting some games.
Guest
I'd sooner loan him to a Championship club for 3 months or so than that mind. Cabaye & Tiote are first-choice, then you have Perch, Bigirimana & Gosling, Jonas can play there. Unlike Gosling & Bigirimana, Abeid has never really had first-team football anywhere, he'd benefit imo from a few months out somewhere in an area we have fair cover. Ginola
Admittedly, this isn't based on seeing a lot of football from either of them, but I'd say Abeid is closer to being ready to play a part for the first team than Bigi is
Oakie Doke
if I was to say that Mehdi Abeid reminds me of a young Jeremy Toulalan you'd probably spit in my face, but nevertheless I couldnt help making the comparison to my nephew, Wilbur, on saturday afternoon as we watched in awe of his abilities. Superb tenacity and eye-catching technique, I am absolutely certain that he will go far in the game and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours (Wilbur, not Abeid!). Thanks for reading. Dinho lad
Don't really want to see us let him go without finding out how good he could be. Plus, he's only been here for around a year. (Probably a shit link anyway.)

toontownman
If we get Anita in a think we can send him or bigi out on loan, if not we are probably best keeping him around.
alexthegreat
Bigirimana seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order despite being a year younger. He didn't even make the bench in either of the games v Atromitos, and I just saw this on .COM: PS: A first senior selection of Mehdi Abeid by Algeria for their African Nations Cup qualifier against Libya didn't materialise, amid press claims that the United midfielder could be set to join a Turkish side on loan. Wasn't that long ago that Pardew was talking about him pushing for a 1st team place, but maybe with Bigiramana, Vuckic, and Gosling ahead of him as well as Anita, Cabaye, Tiote, and possibly Amalfitano (if he plays in the middle) Pardew reckons a loan is better for him. Would prefer a loan to a championship club though.
Cajun
Would be nice for some of our youngsters to get loans, better experience than sitting on the bench/reserves until they are in their 20's imo.
Jack Flash
We're at too delicate a stage to be loaning anyone out imo. We're already in danger of being very light in first team squad depth and the reserve squad looks low on numbers too. I don't think 1 month loan deals are worth the effort either. It should be 6 months minimum.
Away Toon
I don't know how high he ever was on the ladder, but he appears to be slipping right down near the bottom now. I think we are going to probably let him go soon. His he any good?
