AyeDubbleYoo
It did seem like we were willing to pay the fee for Gomis TBH, not contingent on selling anyone. Obviously the question is then why we haven't done any deals at all.
KDT
L'Equipe think PSG might be "cooling their interest". I think we've started a trend.
Guest icemanblue
He has 3 years on his contract We bought him quite cheaply so we are not really risking a big investment in not playing him if it goes that far. Its a world cup year so he has to play. And also play well. Unless we get 20-25 mil for him, why on earth should we sell? Yep. My only concern is that his sale is directly linked to our chances of bringing in more players (LOL, etc). Given that he is widely believed to be a key character around the dressing room with the French contingent I'm not sure having him moping around in the stiffs is necessarily the best idea either, normally I'd be all for letting him train with the youths etc. Ah, missed that line. Obviously, if he is to stay, he needs to stay part of the first team squad, and play. He needs to play, for the World Cup, and we'll need him too as well. Ikon
He hasn't been very good lately, but who has? Just have to think about the Chelsea game at home to remember how good he can be when the team works/plays like a team. Absolutely top class display in that game! Im sure that if he was to move on we'd realise how effective he can be, and good.
TRon
L'Equipe think PSG might be "cooling their interest". It could be that they have found out that Cabaye is more interested in going to Arsenal. In any case it seems unlikely that anyone is going to stump up the sort of fee we are looking for.
Skirge
So one bid and he is still not going to play for us, so unprofessional, Baines and Fellaini both subject of Man U bids that were rejected and neither have made an issue of it.
Guest icemanblue
Wey, we don't know that for certain, like. I doubt he will actually play though. He didn't seem to be involved in training at all.

Pardew claims he dropped him. What other information on this has there been to suggest he's being unprofessional or refusing to play?
henke
Cabaye should start tomorrow. If he doesn't i'd be amazed if he stays.
Skirge
He is not playing tomorrow so say SSN, if he was 100% in it until he left I am sure he would he picked to start.

I would hope so, but I really wouldn't bet against it being some shitty games from the people who run our club. Pardew already said he'd dropped him, rather than Cabs refusing to play. Who knows. LRD
Darn amateurs should have used the injury excuse like Spurs do with Bale instead. That would not have put both club and player in a less favourable light, and ensure prolonged attention isn't on the player in case a sale falls through. Skirge
Drooped him because he had his head turned, I am sure if he was in the right frame of mind he would have played, he has now had days to get used to the situation but he is still not going to play. I know its easy to blame the club and yes its not a far fetched idea it could be games but I would not be shocked to find out it is Cabaye being in a huff. Tiresias
A player should be able to switch off external factors and play well for his team regardless of transfer stuff, if he can't handle that pressure he's not going to be able to handle pressure in games at all. It all seems smoke and mirrors for not wanting him to jeopardize his transfer by getting injured

Why shouldn't he?
BrettNUFC
Because he couldn't do the most important thing of his job... play in a match for us? You don't know what the situation was? He could have been pulled out by higher up to not risk injury, Pardew might have made the call despite Cabaye saying he would play, to say he's a cunt and doesn't deserve paid when we don't know the ins and outs of what actually did happen is strange. Just because Arsenal placed a bid and Cabaye was left out of the side shouldn't mean we should dock him a weeks pay, nothing has came out to say he refused to play. Just because Arsenal placed a bid and Cabaye was left out of the side shouldn't mean we should dock him a weeks pay, nothing has came out to say he refused to play. That is completely reasonable, but we were talking about players who say they can't play as their head is turned. In that situation I'd think your a c*** when you a professional millionaire and can't muster 90 mins of football for your club and the fans who help pay your huge wages. Maybe that doesn't apply to Cabaye, but if it does then I think he's a bit of a c*** for letting everyone down given the money he earns and the dream he lives. Well yeah i agree, but it's still a big 'IF', therefore we can't really hold anything against him at this moment in time as we don't know what actually happened. So for now, he's not a cunt and he should be getting paid
r0cafella
Brett is right here its clear Pardew pulled him from the team. His head was turned is the biggest load of crap ever. Rooney who is one of the biggest sulkers in the league managed to play. Shocked at how people have turned on Cabaye to be honest

BottledDog
Brett maybe right, we don't know. I haven't "turned on Cabaye" as we don't know for sure. If he hasn't been sold and there aren't any bids on the table that we are about to accept then he should be started against West Ham. I'm hoping that's the case as we need him right now. He should at least be training, whether or not his head is right for games. He doesn't even appear to be doing that as far as we can tell.
Ste
If Cabaye was that against it, you'd assume he would have come out by now and set the record straight. The club have probably been hoping for a larger bid this week that hasn't quite materialised. I don't expect him to start against West Ham. Perhaps his head will be all over the place, or he has picked up a small knock and the club were not willing to risk further injury.
