Incredibly lucrative?

Absolute waste of his talent if he goes to Russia. How often does this seem to be said now ...

Didn't work out for him at Chelsea, but he took an opportunity that most would.

Quite a few signing bonuses divided up among his gang of mates, on the back of moves re- the last couple of years or so.

Maybe a single season stop-over in Russia (if this transfer's finalised) is on the cards, before the Demba Ba Caravan buggers off to somewhere like Turkey.

Pardew would probably play 4-4-2 with Cisse and Ba up top again which clearly didn't work for the first half of last season

I'd much rather someone willing/able to play out wide or a proper target man

The only way I'd consider having him back is if Cisse is benched/sold or we get him on loan because he's the best we can manage this window and sign someone better suited in January

If we could afford to, a replacement for Cisse rather than competition would be preferable. I wouldn't want to see Ba and Cisse in the same team, which would probably happen. Not that we will be back in for Ba.

Would carry him back here in a heartbeat.

Despite the fact its pretty obvious he and Cisse don't work?

Great player but if the partnership didn't work well before why all of a sudden would it work now?

So you'd honestly at this stage turn down Demba Ba?

Yup. He's history.

Yes because its proven that he and Cisse don't work.....

You can't just get a load of players together and ignore whether they compliment each other or not.

Unless of course that he and Cisse would contend for one spot and we get another forward to play on the wings. ( which wouldn't happen)

I never want our former players back again. When they're gone, they're gone.

I'd agree by and large but it depends on the circumstances... Beardsley yes... Ba no...

Beardsley was one of the two great exceptions, the other being Keegan returning as manager the first time. And it was largely the relationship between the two, and the way Beardsley was able to animate Keegan's approach on the pitch, that made that period sparkle.

But returnees usually mean at best disappointment and at worst disaster.

  • 1 month later...

completely left out of the squad by Jose tonight. Didn't even travel.

Should try and put in a cheeky bid for him.Think he regrets getting last time on the pitch now..

Remy, Ba, Cisse up front???

Shola it is then
