Eeeh, it's almost like they got exactly what they deserve. It's like everyone knew this would happen and they did it anyway. It's almost like they're all absolute cunts.

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor expected to train this week while Fabricio Coloccini will be assessed

Newcastle United defenders Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini have not suffered injuries during the international break despite reports

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor is expected to be back in contention for the clash with Queens Park Rangers.

And skipper Fabricio Coloccini is set to be assessed this week after hobbling off with a muscle injury in the 2-0 win at West Brom.

Both woke up to headlines today claiming they’d sustained injuries during the international break.

However, United will run the rule over both this week.

Whitley Bay lad Taylor missed the game with West Brom due to a minor calf injury and wasn’t played as a precaution.

But he will be expected to train this week as the build-up to the encounter with QPR begins.

Alan Pardew stated after the win at the Hawthorns he was hopeful on the defensive duo being fit.

Striker Manu Riviere will also hand Pardew a bonus this week.

Pardew said: “I think Steven should be back for QPR, I think Riviere will be back, and I’m hoping Colo comes through.”

United did recall Remie Streete from his loan stint at Port Vale but this was a precautionary measure as the South Shields-based defender was required as cover.

Streete has always looked half decent when I've seen him. Think it's about time he had a crack at the first-team, especially if we've got so many injuries.

He will no doubt go with Iron Mike and Dummett. Would also like to see Streete given a go - he will be motivated to do well with his contract expiring.

Colo always get injured at this time of year.  Normally he comes off during a match as a precaution (we are told) and no-one is unduly concerned because no-one can remember an incident that caused the problem as he always seems to walk off the pitch OK.  Next thing we hear, he is out for weeks which usually turns into months.  Regular as clockwork.

And his rehab is always mysteriously in Argentina...

He gets away with a lot. Had a cracking game at WBA and can't see Willo et al. putting in similar performances. Hope he is back for the Mackem game at least.

Why are all Chronicle articles written in that 1-line style? Is it a requirement? It's well s***, as if they just assume their entire readership is thick.

Mole is a writer there.

Joke. Right?
