It's more worrying that we're competing with another club for our last chance at a striker, when we've needed a striker for this long and had a good £15m at least for one.

This should have been wrapped up weeks ago, no excuses.

So who does this deal favour the longer it goes?

Don't know what kind of helicopter we use, but he physically needs to be at the helipad just about now to make it to SJP and sign a contract within two hours.

why would he need to come to newcastle to sign a deal with us ? i'd be surprised if the club didn't have somewhere in london, a central hub, to make this sort of thing easier.

Well Dekka did/does own a casino in London... Mafia-esque.

Mortifying that he'd probably have chosen us any day of the week if we'd shown a serious interest. If he doesn't sign it's only because we came in so late like desperate wankers.

How do you know that?

It's just common sense that a player would find it more difficult to make a decision in such a short space of time.

Yes, but that's not quite "he'd have chosen us any day of the week".

But I said "probably" chosen us any day of the week. The fact that he's delayed signing for Fulham would suggest that it might well be the case.

Dutch journalist : "Munsterman doet kapingsverhaal van Ruiz door Newcastle United af als 'pure onzin.' Want: 'Die club heeft geen bod op Ruiz gedaan.'#fctwente"

Google translation: "Munsterman (Twente chairman) does hijacking story of Ruiz by Newcastle United off as pure nonsense. "Because: "The club has made no offer for Ruiz." Fctwente #"

Oh dear.

we could have put this bid in months ago. infact, we could've bid for gameiro, gervinho, erdinc, cisse, maiga and ruiz on the same day, months ago. and we'd have gotten one of them.

How the hell would we get him here and signed in time anyway?

Helicopters are pretty fast you know.

Can they travel back in time, a medical takes hours.

Late transfers are always "Signs subject to medical" innit

I think it was from 010111 that medical had to be done before a signing could be complete.

So its not possible anymore if i am not mistaken.

Seems your right:

The validity of a contract may not be made subject to a successful

medical examination and/or the grant of a work permit.

I do love the idea that we left it so late because we didn't think he'd be as affordable as he is.

"Jesus that lad is class, he's the answer to all of our prayers. No way we could afford him though I'm sure, not even going to inconvenience them by asking how much they want. That lad is just too good."
