Elliottman
Doesn't matter if we sack Pardew. Ashley will just bring in another puppet too soothe the fans, and it will continue until Ashley is out of the club. It absolutely does matter.

Nigh on impossible to be as bad as him with the players at his disposal.
Guest
You can be a puppet to Ashley and still play attractive football.
AyeDubbleYoo
You can be a puppet to Ashley and still play attractive football. Course, you can do anything you want, all you need to agree to is the transfer policy.
Guest bimpy474
You can be a puppet to Ashley and still play attractive football. This seems to be very lost as a concept on people who say Pardew isn't at fault.
Guest
I still disagree that he fluked his way to 5th mind. We were the 5th best team that season, granted based on Liverpool, Everton & Chelsea not being what they should have been.

We were the 5th best team that season, granted based on Liverpool, Everton & Chelsea not being what they should have been. Think that was more to do with the quality of the new players we brought in before he'd had a chance to Pardew them rather than any managerial genius on his part. Jayson
He did well for our run in that season, only time he hasnt reverted to his negative starting point. Until we lost to Wigan & his ego was reinforced by manager of the year. Been a mess ever since.

We were the 5th best team that season, granted based on Liverpool, Everton & Chelsea not being what they should have been. Ba was on fire first half of the season. Then Cisse turns up and starts bossing the place. Pardew then decides to fuck around with the formation just to keep Ba happy and the rest is history.... It was public knowledge at his appointment that he would make money personally off of transfer Net Spend if it was good.
Colos Short and Curlies
A chap having a go at Ashley on Talksport this morning, saying he thought he was a good businessman. Now I'm sure he meant to say he had a bit of nounce about him, but it was either a brilliant drop of the u or an unfortunate mispronunciation, because thats not exactly what came out of his mouth
Unbelievable
You can be a puppet to Ashley and still play attractive football. In theory yes. In practice, good luck finding a good, positive manager who will put up with the shit Ashley serves them, starting with ridiculously low (in relative terms for Premiership managers) financial terms. Pardew is willing to be Ashley's human shield. Any manager with a ounce of self respect would have walked.
TheGuv
Yep. My admiration for KK has quadrupled under Pardew's tenure. He saw the fraud that Ashley was in 8 months!
Wullie
Yep. My admiration for KK has quadrupled under Pardew's tenure. He saw the fraud that Ashley was in 8 months! This is why I hated the attitude of some when Keegan walked, that "he should have swallowed his pride and stuck with it for the good of the club" What, and become a spineless snivelling little shitbag like Alan Pardew, licking his boss's hoop in public and lying to the supporters at every opportunity? The man has far too much about him to do that and every Newcastle fan should respect 100% his decision to walk. Not just respect it in fact, love it - how many people stand up to Mike Ashley and win? Ah he's fucking great, man.
Hughesy
Whilst I agree with the above - if every honourable manager leaves... where does that leave the club? Either stuck with an Alan Pardew or no manager at all. And to be honest, I am sure there is a middle ground that could be struck between walking out on the club and being Alan Pardew.. There are plenty of managers who would fit the middle ground, but Keegan would never be one of them. Can you imagine him coming to Newcastle with the aim of finishing 10th? Ashley should never have conned him that we wanted to win stuff.

Ah he's fucking great, man. I agree we should respect his decision, but wouldn't you rather have Keegan managing under Ashley's restrictions than Pardew? He wouldn't have his say in buying players, and his budget would be too small, but he could still create a team that was more than the sum of its parts and went out to play attractive football. I think that's what people meant when they wanted him to stick around.
