Thank God we dodged the guaranteed relegation bullet that TCD warned us about. Buying a defender really would have upset our solid back line too much

  Would have criss crossed our velocity when we need to zig zag our agility.  Lets run it up the flagpole and see if some blue sky thinking can fart us a unicorn.

Everton now appear to be the latest club being subject of a US takeover according to today's news...200m is the figure quoted as what they have to pay...can anyone imagine what our beloved owner might have asked them for had they tried to buy us...?

Twice that amount is my best guess and at 200m they have got a better buy with Everton.

Ashley has pretty much killed off the Newcastle brand and when he does eventually sell id imagine he will still want the image rights of the club for SD...which would probably put any potential buyers off straight away.  The bloke is an awful human being.

The reason why there have been no takers for Everton until now is because they need a new stadium so I wonder whether they are prepared to make that investment or whether they are just eyeing up the new TV deal.

John Jay Moores, the guy leading this takeover, had to sell the Padres as part of a messy divorce. He also ran off with a chunk of the money from a new TV deal and failed to put a competitive team on the field for his last decade-plus of ownership.

Here's a synopsis:

John Moores bought the Padres dirt cheap in 1994 after the baseball strike. He pumped money into the team and reached the World Series weeks before a ballot granted him a new stadium and shit-tons of taxpayer money. He skimmed money off the team while they remained terrible for about a decade. He got caught banging some chick and had to sell the team in a divorce. He agreed to sell the team in payments. The payment deal didn't work out. He found $200 million sitting in his baseball team's account. He put that money in his pocket. He tried selling the team again and succeeded. He disappeared.

In fairness, baseball in San Diego was looking bleak when he took over. Pretty sure the team was thinking about moving due to stadium issues and he made sure they stayed put. He also sanctioned the money to put together a very good good team in his first few years. It's after that where things go downhill and the building of a competitor could definitely have been to garner local support and get a stadium built (with taxpayer dollars).

He then, for the most part, stopped spending despite a new stadium opening and revenue sharing yielding extra millions from big market teams. And the way he exited is the worst part of all. He effectively stole $200m and got away with it.

If there was ever a good time to sack your useless manager, now is the time with an 18 day break before the next game and 12 games left to play. There's no use if fat bastard fires McClaren with 6 games to go or 4 games to go or whatever.

And when I say now is the time, I mean tonight or tomorrow or latest by Monday so that we have enough time to get a reputable replacement in. Not the 12 year old boy sitting next to him on the bench or anymore of Mike's useless old, used up, casino friends. The replacement needs to be in place by the end of the week or Monday next week the latest to have enough time to take a look at the confidence and ability lacking set of players before the next match.

Forget all the compensation you will have to dish out to the McClaren brigade, Mike. You'll be able to pay that 'upfront' to them and still get the millions from the new Tv money next season if you replace the cunt now.

Do it Mike. Pull the trigger. McClaren will not make you the money you want. He'll make you lose it instead.

None of the above will happen mind. Goodbye NUFC.
