Rangers are knackered they sold their best player to Brentford yesterday and the Scottish fa have basically stopped Ashley from helping them, his next appointment at Newcastle will show us where he stands.

if he chooses carver he will definitely sell us anyone else and rangers could be in serious trouble

The thing is it is often mentioned how Ashley bought us for fun and as soon as the fans starting having a go at him he decided to stop that as he didn't like being called nasty names.

In general football fans are fickle as fuck, so if he actually spent a bit of cash and brought in a manager for as mentioned footballing reasons a lot of our fan-base wouldn't give a fuck about the tacky advertisements around the stadium and all of the rest of it.

It's sad really because it wouldn't take that much for him to win the fans round, tweaking his existing policies so that they all work properly. He started doing it in 2011/12 but he continually ruins it by doing stupid things.

If we stop touting our players around as soon as they look half decent, he gets rid of some of the SD.com shite and invests at least the TV money Id wager most people would leave him alone.

The touting of players around is so irritating as it is so needless.  If they get a good enough offer or if the player wants a move, they will sell.  There was no need for Pardew to constantly remind everyone in every interview who they were "afraid" of losing if a club offered a minumum of £x.

The scouting set up clearly works well and i don't think many of us have a problem with it. Selling players at a huge profit isn't really a problem either unless we fail to replace them in the next transfer window ala Cabaye.

I also think most would accept the SD advertising if he would just install a decent manager and coaching setup, and left them to it ie. Try to qualify for Europe, try to win the cups etc.

We're not a million miles away from having a setup that almost everyone would buy into but he won't make that extra step.

Also we should be waiting until they are at maximum value before selling yet we prefer to sell as soon as any old bid comes in.

Exactly which is why we should get Perez on a long-term contract and look to hold on to him for a couple more years.  They may get a nice little profit on him in the next year but if he continues to progress at his current rate, they could get a huge profit in 2-3 years.  Similarly with Aarons although it is too early to know what his likely potential will be and if he is injury prone.  There should be no rush to sell every player as soon as they show some promise as they could be far more valuable in a few years.  (I hate always talking about players in this way and not being able to dream of them leading us to glory in the future).

We obviously sold Carroll at his optimum value and did well on Debuchy but I think Cabaye went for less than he should.  My understanding was that Cabaye was sold by Kinnear for less than the reported fee which was still less than Ashley wanted and was a key reason for him being sacked.

Pardew failed at improving the players enough and those that did/have improved have been those of certain type of character like Cabaye and seemingly Perez where their self-determination and ambition fuels their improvement.  (Carroll's improvement came under Hughton). Those players that need more guidance seem to hit a wall under Pardew.

How long before starts referencing our young players as proof at how good he is at developing youth as he constantly did with the West Ham players!

Rumours that Laxey Partners, who are the biggest stakeholders in Rangers, have sold all their shares (about 16%) to 'mystery investors'

Where is all the TV money going? Is it clearing the ' loan' he gave to the club?

Thing is, if we make a step up and are finishing in and around sixth or seventh every year, we'd start wanting Ashley to invest even more and push for Champions League.

Expectations are a dangerous thing from his perspective. He wants to keep us in a safely mediocre space where progress looks hopeless so nobody will ever push him to spend more of the club's money.

Looks that way. It may be why he's said he won't sell until at least the end of next season. By that time he will have had two years worth of the new TV deal which will have pretty much cleared the debt. The club would then be a debt free business, which of course makes it far more attractive to a buyer. Not that anyone can really have the first idea about what his intentions are.....

On reflection he's reaping what he's sown here, Pardew hasn't repaid his loyalty whatsoever.

I wonder if he regrets not sacking Pardew at Southampton if he did he could have got Moyes in charge.

Why would he regret it? He's actually getting money for him

He's left him in the lurch without a replacement and as I said Mike appears to be big on loyalty Pardew is jumping ship and rocking the boat.

If Ashley would have sacked Pardew and appointed a Moyes it would have given him some breathing room with the fans.

If he picks another puppet the fans will be on the case of both the puppet and Ashley, Pardew earned a lot of chips with our fanbase with his 5th place finish that's now evaporated.

If the rumours are true about us wanting a Head Coach from the continent rather than another Manager then I'd rather that tbh - Moyes would have wanted some control over transfers, Ashley would have lied and said yes, and there's a good chance it might have ended in tears.

We could do with VI clarifying but given it's Spain it's likely Real Socieded have a sporting director who does that or at least has a hand in it.
