Jill
There is absolutely no way the money from this is lining Ashley's pockets ffs. He'll get whatever percentage he is entitled to and that's it. The rest might not go directly on players, but it'll go in to the club anyway. probably to fund mass production of more 'whey aye man' costumes. Bucket please - sick in mouth. ExiledGeordie
No I think many aspects of the financial model that's been set up has to be commended but I doubt whether there really is the committment to take the club forward because that would require more investment than is currently in place. I suppose in reality I've just got used to the hideous cringeworthy acts of Ashley and this latest one is a good'un no doubt.

Cajun
Think some are getting a little ahead of themselves, nothing has been confirmed and the article claims we are going to get less from the shirt and stadium sponsorship than we were getting from the deal we cancelled for just the shirt deal. bowlingcrofty
Morally speaking, this is uncomfortable. But there's not much you can do about it. I feel a bit sickened by the whole idea but then, we are where we are and we've already been shown by Ashley that we're completely under his thumb. At least they're a financially secure business - fastest growing company in Europe: http://www.wonga.com/blog/2010/05/13/wonga-named-fastest-growing-business-in-europe/ not that it will have any real net benefit for the Toon Army of course. They're only the fastest growing business in Europe because Gazza borrow a tenner off them for a fishing rod and now owes them 23 trillion quid. Stifler
Dafuq is Wonga? A payday loan company that charges interest rates of about 3333% (not shit either, it actually does). There has been calls from politicians, members of the public, and even journalists that companies like them should be banned. If their interest rates weren't bad enough they clearly target those who can't get credit and to make matters worse even if a customers payed back their loan on time and didn't default on payments then it does not positively effect their credit score.
