What the fuck does Santon have to do to get a game.

God knows. Really no point in adding to the squad in jan, pards won't play any of them.

I don't think we will see him until the third round of the cup in January.

Simpson and Obertan down the right flank...may as well have fielded the Chuckle Brothers, at least they know how to pass to each other.

Only thing worse than that is the way Loven and Raylor are playing.  Sturridge is getting free run out there.

Need Santon on in place of Lovenkrands. I've lost count of how many times Sturridge has raped us down the right hand side.

FFS loven isn't our LB

Giving Taylor no protection at all and offering nothing going forward either.

Feels like a day where it's not worth getting out of bed for...

...the ref is bent as fuck, Tiote and Colo are out, Raylor still hasn't been fucking phased out of the team, and Perch and Lovenkrands (presumably only by virtue of their "age" and "experience"), are ahead of more promising players.

Fullbacks have been awful, Raylor exposed countless times, Simpson nonexistent other than to give the ball away, midfield largely ineffective.  Ben Arfa still looks a step or two behind the play.  Ba's been fantastic and his work ethic is giving us an outlet with which to work.  Otherwise, we'd already be fucked.

Ref is a disgrace etc but that's only papering over our issues at the moment.

There's absolutely no way that would've been a yellow card had it been Saylor or Colo taking Drogba down, so fucking unbelievable.

One slight lapse in concentration has put us 1-0 down as well, gutting.

We MUST change our shape to avoid being exploited down the wings, Simpson and Raylor need to stop going forward - they're exploiting the space behind them EVERY time it's there.

Honestly, the refereeing is a fucking disgrace.

I'm sending them a rather nasty complaint which will probably just not even be looked at.

Are you really sending a complaint or are you just threatening to send a complaint and you'll change your mind about it tomorrow?

Just kidding with you.

our final ball has been really bad today.  no one can offer any invention when we get near their box, we should expect ben arfa to be the exact man for that job but he's been missing, marked completely out of the game.  he needs to get on his bike and work harder and lose his man.

we were also playing far to high up in the begining, and that goal conceded was just poor defending and lack of concentration to allow that cross in, in the first place, nevermind the shoddy attempt to stop drogba's header.

What promising centre back is Perch keeping out right now?

Bit of a Jonas-size gap down our left side defence. When Raylor is exposed one-on-one, he's in extreme difficulty.

The new shape isn't really working. 4-3-3 does put pressure on the full backs, and ours aren't good enough, in attack or defence.

The straw to clutch is that we are able to create chances, and if Tim keeps them at bay, we might nick something.

Disgraceful really, £6m signing wastes half a season on the bench.

Great Game at the Your Name Here For Quids Arena. Newcastle simultaneously very lucky and unlucky to be a goal down

Professional from Glendenning.

Not sure I agree about Guthrie having a good game. On the ball he's been canny but Ramirez has ran past him at will in the first half. We are struggling to hld them in midfield with neither Guthrie or Cabaye being particularly quick across the ground.
