Dogawful Officiating - Dave Coote suspended

I’m forever comparing about the Longstaff kick in the face and now the Schar one last weekend.

We really need to revisit how VAR is used for situations like today’s penalty. Entirely subjective decisions cannot be overruled unless there’s a consensus. It’s farcical that one guy in a video booth can look at something 10 times and still can’t give a clear decision

Isn't the rule that if it hits the sleeve it's not handball? Clearly hits the top of Wilson's arm which is by his side.

They're doing their fucking best to stiff us here today, it's disgraceful and blatant.

Both pens were pens

But why doesnt Schar get one. Its a high foot in the side of his head. He was down for several minutes. Not sure if VAR even looked at it? Its always hit and miss time after times week after week.

This is the issue.   Fernandes foot to the head of Schar is a penalty, and so is this.

This doesn’t help the PL when it comes to criticism of favoring the big teams. (See also Spurs trip on Brighton forward who should have had penalty)

Wasn't a pen for me. Player anticipated he was gonna get hit in the head and threw himself to the floor. Ref didn't give it so should never have been overturned after 30 replays slower down. Contact doesn't mean penalty l, been said a million times but never gets less frustrating.

Wilson's looked clearly the top of the arm above the sleeve and was down by his side. Again how is that given?

Seemed a collective effort to try to hold us back today and they failed because our quality still got us over the line.

Coupled with spurs getting saved by a horrendous decision and all.

Just saw the absolute state of VAR in the Spurs v Brighton match. Has a team ever been shafted so much in 1 game?

Mitoma goal looked like he controlled it with his shoulder was great control but got disallowed for handball

Wellbeck goal deflected off Macallister. Hard to see if it his hand but looked like hip maybe? Disallowed for handball would have put Brighton 2-1 up

Mitoma got stood on by Hojberg a 100% nailed on penalty. Can see clearly stands on his foot. Was 1-1 at the time. Walton says he cant believe it wasn't given

Dunk has his shirt pulled stopping him go for a header near the end of the game. VAR says no?

Borderline corruption. Cant believe how many decisions went to Spurs. Needs investigating. Chris Sutton was raging saying he's never seen a team shafted like that today

In fairness the var fella should of looked at the Henry incident and after the replays he had were it was inconclusive that there was a genuine foul. He should of just let the refs decision stand.

It’s plainly farcical that a team of people watching replays from multiple angles, for 5 minutes, then have to refer the decision back to the ref on field to look at a screen for 30 seconds and change his mind. Seems to make no sense at all.

plain and obvious - they should get 30 seconds max before they car refer back to the ref.

With some of the decisions today you could almost think there is an agenda for Newcastle not to make the top 4...

I just saw this on Twitter:

And I have to say I agree with it, making VAR decisions timed, would help alot of the issues we have, as well as the atmosphere in the stadium, as if it's clear and obvious a minute should be ample amount of time to prove if it should overturn a decision.

Add in the assisted offside system seen at the World Cup and I think things can move in a positive direction.
