Cajun
If we sign a forward I really think it should be someone young with a lot of potential. We have two top goalscorers. Experience and strength with Shola and Best who is capable of both on his day. Not sure we need someone who isnt already a proven goalscorer or someone who likely to greatly improve. Only seen this lad via the Football League but he just looks like a good lower league forward which we have enough of. Would rather sign a Rhodes/Zaha/Rodriguez who all look a lot more promising (admittedly more expensive though) or give one of our current youngsters a go. Guest ThievingMagpie
We need someone for January for sure, someone like a Best but younger and a load of upside. I'd be fine with Bas Dost if we could get him and if he'd be happy playing 3rd fiddle for a year or two.
buzza
Just seen a you tube video of Jerson Cabral (Feyenord) and it's amazing how quick he is and some of his skills are ben-arfesque! Good young prospect for the wings...

Ocho
That's a canny list. Long gone are the days of going for ageing players on inflated wages.
Dave
Bet we don't sign any of those, apart from Amalfitano.

SUPERTOON
Quotes from that Amalfitano in the sun, saying he has spoken to Cabaye and Ben Arfa and couldn't turn down the opportunity of a lifetime. STM
I have a feeling we will make at least one top signing this summer. Someone who might make the difference for a champions league push next year. Really looking forward to the summer.
Yorkie
Not sure how i feel about the summer. I'm 50% excited and 50% nervous, i think. I'll be somewhere closer to 100% excited if we qualify for the Champions League, cos i think that'll guarantee the likes of Ba and Tiote will stay. Unbelievable
Aston Villa has come in for Douglas. According to Voetbal International (Dutch football programme and fairly credible as a source) they seem wiling to pay what FC Twente want unlike NUFC, which puts them in pole position for his signature. Guest gggg
Aston Villa has better credentials to Douglas to annex as Newcastle United can not meet the asking price. what.
Guest Roland
Aston Villa is willing to wait until 28 August to finalize the deal (if Douglas doensn't play any games for Twente next season). In that case, Douglas can play for the Dutch national team. Maybe NUFC is not willing to pay the asking price of Twente if they can't use him in the Euopean (CL) rounds in August.
