Aye, same. Would love us to bring in a real quality left-back to give Santon the chance to move over and solidify that position as his own, but if there's nothing doing on that front then the next best thing is to bring in someone on the other side and let him keep developing at LB.

Can we get a LB that is as good as Debuchy at RB though?

That's the thing, i dont think we can and if we can get Debuchy i would'nt think twice about it......

Plus i cant think of many LB's that are better than Debuchy and even if there are they are at the elite clubs already.

Also as each week passes Santon seems to get better and better as much as it seems great to put him at RB thers no way in hell i think we should turn down the opportunity as having Santon and Debuchy as our fullbacks.

Debuchy is better than Cissokho by quite a distance, also according to people in france Cissokho has'nt performed for a very long time.

Olivier Giroud and Mathieu Debuchy share French kiss on the soccer field

Mar 2nd, 2012 by Cyd Zeigler jr..

When he scored a goal against Germany in an international friendly on Wednesday, Frenchman Olivier Giroud grabbed teammate Mathieu Debuchy and thanked him for the assist with a big, wet kiss on the mouth (video below). Giroud was asked about it after the game, telling Le Parisien (and I’m sorry for the rough translation): “No, I was simply thanking him. … Don’t read into it.”

The kiss is particularly fun because of Debuchy’s reaction. Debuchy goes in for the hug, but Giroud pushes his hands away and grabs the back of his head. Debuchy seems almost shocked when Giroud pulls him in and plants a kiss on him, quickly pulling away. As he turns to share the moment with his teammates rushing over to celebrate, Debuchy is not smiling (odd just seconds after a goal).

Journal says we're "stepping up interest" in Debuchy because of Simpson's contract situation.

Sky Sports understands highly-rated Feyenoord winger Jerson Cabral is a target for a number of Premier League clubs.

Cabral is regarded as one of the best talents to emerge in Holland in recent years and has represented Holland all the way up from Under 17 level to the Under 21s.

The 21-year-old caught the eye of a number of sides after starring for Holland in the Under 19 European Championship campaign in 2009/10 and he established himself as a key player in the Feyenoord side.

Feyenoord have helped develop the likes of Robin van Persie and Cabral is tipped to be the next big player to emerge from their academy.

Cabral, who has scored six goals and has six assists to his name this season, has been likened to countryman Arjen Robben in his style of play in that he can play on the left and right wing.

The exciting winger has just a year to run on his current contract at De Kuip and Feyenoord have offered him a new deal to secure his long-term future.

However, sources close to the player claim Cabral could be tempted to leave Feyenoord this summer for a switch to England.

The news has alerted a host of clubs across Europe with Newcastle and Tottenham both thought to be leading the chase to bring Cabral to the Premier League
