NUFC transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

For all we may want to shift the dead wood we won't shift many of them. Can't see any one bidding for Obertan for example.

We did. There is always someone dumb enough out there to take a chance.

one of the promoted teams are usually looking for  "established" and "proven" PL players at the right price

Posted in the Curtis thread, but looks like we could bin all of Simpson, Harper, Williamson, Gosling, Obertan, Amalfitano and Abeid this summer as well as possibly sending Sammy, Vuckic and Ferguson out on loan again.

http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2013/04/02/newcastle-united-deciding-who-to-move-on-61634-33100364/

If that happens we'll defo need to reinvest quite heavily again in the summer.

The Amalfitano signing along with Gosling have turned out to be hopeless punts at picking players on a free and then get some value into them and sell them on.

Yeah but it happens. Gosling has done close to fuck all, and Amalfitano has done precisely fuck all. Maybe we really meant to move for Morgan but fucked it up somehow?

Just a promising, fairly young player who we got for free and more than likely pay very little wages to. Worth a punt tbh.

Gosling is the one who will have made a dent in the finances.

Not overly fussed about anyone on that list going. Shame about Abeid as I thought he looked promising but we have a fair few CMs now so we can afford to let them leave. We will need to replace Williamson and it would be nice if we could keep Harper around.

Most clubs get rid of players on their books who've been dead-weight for ages. We've seemingly kept these players on for many years past their their welcome.

Its about damn time and I'll honestly not think twice to whoever they decide to shift on who isn't one of our top 11-12 players as long as that means we will actually replace them. I'm confident our recruiting can identify good squad players - its the board who need to make these decisions to move players and replace them properly to build the squad depth that we've never had.

The agent of Alexander Ring, a Finn who plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach (on loan) says that they're negotiating with Newcatle

http://www.iltasanomat.fi/huuhkajat/art-1288552851373.html

Says he's close to a £500 000 move to Newcastle but they are talking with other clubs too, including almost all the clubs in Germany. Says the decision will be probably done in May.

Don't know how much is typical agent bullshit but that's what he's saying anyways...

Don't think he's good enough for us personally but hope I'm wrong...

Some papers were claiming we had made a deal for Möchengladbach´s Alexander Ring for 500k. Good young player, but not good enough for Prem and we have 10000 midfielders anyway. So seems bs.

Harper

Simpson

Williamson

Colo

Gosling

Obertan

Amalfitano

Jonas

Abeid

Ferguson

Sammy

Vuckic

Shola

Shola and Jonas won't be leaving.... Harper, Williamson, Gosling and Simpson will be replaced by players already at the club..

Amalfitano, Abeid, Ferguson, Sammy and Vuckic are really quite irrelevant as they are not really first team other than maybe Ferguson.

As i have said many times its not the size of the squad that is the problem its the quality.

Even if all those players left, whether they are permanent or loans ( except Jonas and Shola because they won't be going) i still believe we require only 3-4 first team players.

If the club want to bring in some young players in the Curtis Good mould then that is their prerogative but unless some major sales happen that we don't expect like Cabaye etc etc we don't need no more than 3-4 first team players IMO.

Alderweireld states desire to join Liverpool

Ajax centre-back Toby Alderweireld is ready to snub interest from Newcastle United in favour of a move to Liverpool.

Alderweireld has spent his entire career with Ajax, winning back-to-back Eredivisie titles, but is likely to become the latest Belgium international to make the move to the Premier League.

The 24-year-old will be available for a cut-price fee of around £8 million with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2014. He could leave Ajax with a hat-trick of league titles with the club three points clear of PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse Arnhem.

"I do not want to play in an English club in mid-table. Unlike Newcastle, Liverpool meets my criteria," the defender, who has also been linked with Everton and Manchester United, told the Belgian press.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already signalled his intention to strengthen at the back with Jamie Carragher retiring, Martin Skrtel linked with a move away and Uruguay international Sebastian Coates struggling to make an impression at Anfield. Fellow Ajax star Christian Eriksen has also been linked with a move to the club.

He will follow the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Thomas Vermaelen, Eden Hazard, Kevin Mirallas, Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke in making recent moves to England. Fellow Belgium internationals Simon Mignolet, Vincent Kompany, Mousa Dembele and Marouane Fellaini also play in the Premier League with Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne owned by Chelsea.

Was regularly linked to us in the past iirc.

If he honestly thinks that Liverpool will achieve anything significantly more than us over the next few years, then good luck to him.

The way that things stand they will.

Liverpool had their worst season in an age last season & still got to 2 cup finals.
